Supreme Grandmaster Diony Canete of Doce Pares HQ was one of the individuals responsible for shifting the practice of Arnis from street brawls to sport-oriented formats. He is credited for being the first to develop full-body armour for tournament sparring that is still used in competitions today by organisations such as WEKAF International and Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation.
SGM Cañete teaches the Doce Pares Multi-System which is composed of several styles and approaches in weapons combat derived from the original founders of Doce Pares.

SGM Cañete was the first Grandmaster to advocate a sport based Eskrima/Arnis. Which he believes that making this as Sport would easily promote the art. The Rules, Helmet and Armor its all SGM Cañete's design and ideas.

In most combative training it is not encourage to give the weapon back because you dont want to give any chance to to the opponent and to develop the mindset. But its a different story if you have been training the art for 54 years. For them its like playing patty cake.😂😂😂. Pugay GM Diony.
