Chapter 2: Surah Baqarah Full Tilawat With Tajwid & Arabic Text Highlight HD
Surah Al-Baqarah (arabic text: سورة البقرة) is the second and longest chapter of the Quran. It consists of 286 verses or ayat. It is classified as Medinan Surah and the title of this Surah in English is ""The Calf" or "The Cow".
Main Theme of Surah Al-Baqarah:
Surat Al-Baqarah covers a lot of topics which are not discussed elsewhere in the Holy Quran. Some topics include Islamic guidance, inheirtance laws, creation story of Adam (as) and his fall from Jannah. It addresses the hypocrisy of those who disbelieve in Allah (swt). It is a chapter of guidance giving us rulings on many societal matters like status of orphans, marriage, usury, economic contracts, conduct of war, ruling on gambling and alcohol consumption.
It is one of the most important Surahs when it comes to matters regarding status of other religions. It also gives an historical account between interactions between Musa (as) and Fir'aun.
Surah al-Baqarah also has a lot of virtues that have been authentically narrated in various hadiths. It contains the greatest verse in the Quran which is Ayat al-Kursi, (Sahih Muslim 810) and there are many virtues attached to the last two verses of this Surah. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah in the night, it is enough for him.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 4723, Sahih Muslim 807)
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Satan flees from a home in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited.” (Sahih Muslim 780) So it also works as a form of protection against Jinn and devils. There are many other virtues narrated about this Surah and its various verses.
Benefits of Surah Al-Baqarah:
• Protection from shaitan: If you want to drive the Shaitan out of your house, then recite Surah Al-Baqarah.
• Unlimited blessings: It is said by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that there is a blessing in its recitation and there is sorrow in leaving.
• Life after death: The reciter of this Surah will have great importance in the life after death, where he will be one of the most prominent people.
• Shaitan will not enter his house: The one who recites ten Ayats from this Surah in the night, then Shaitan will not enter his house that night.
• Protect the family: If this Surah is recited on a regular basis, then Shaitan will not come near him and his family and he will not be touched by anything he dislikes.
• Angels listen: It is such a beautiful Surah that even angles come to hear it from the person who recites it.
• Recite before sleeping: Whosoever recites its ten Ayats before sleeping will not forget the Quran.
