Surah Mulk was revealed in Mecca. The meaning of this surah is sovereignty. It talks about the greatness of God and the magnificent universe that He has created. It urges Mankind that if they consider the laws of nature and travel in the Earth with unbiased eyes, they will indeed see that this whole dominion belongs to God, and He alone controls everything.
Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrates that “whoever recites Surah al-Mulk every night, Allah will prevent the punishment of grave by this Surah”. According to another tradition, when a person reads Surah Al-Mulk before sleeping, an angel comes down to protect him because he is not able to protect himself due to sleep
