Meg is obviously a top student but huge credit to Jerry for knowing just what to say in order to both guide and encourage.

Meg's years of gymnastics training would prepare her well for Jerry's course, because she's put her body on the line every time she stepped out on the mat. The other advantage Meg has is, she's used to being coached, and understands the dynamic that the coach's job IS to criticize your performance. Not to hurt your feelings, but to point out where you can improve, and how you can go about doing it. That's why putting your kids in youth sports is valuable throughout their whole lives.

Having Crash bars goes a long way with reducing fear. IF you don't have to worry about tearing one up, then it allows you to take risks. Going these low speeds you might get a scrape, but highly unlikely to get seriously hurt. Its one thing to do it when you don't have to pay for any damage, its another when you are putting 100% of your investment on the line. Give me $1,000 and I will take all kinds of chances in a casino, But with my own money, very few chances would I take.

You go Meg. Great job. We in the motorcycle community are so fortunate to have Jerry being so willing to share his knowledge of riding with the rest of us. I profit so much from these videos and when I practice I feel so much more confident on my bike. I would have never dared to ride like this without Jerry’s instruction and coaching.

I miss riding. Probably lost a lot of my skills...in the past 3 years of not riding. Cofident motorcycle riding skills are a perishable, Keep Practicing. I see this a lot in even more experienced riders, keep your feet up. The Only time your feet should touch the ground is once your bike comes to a Complete Stop.... that is a stop without a roll through... Prior to my stopping of riding (due to a great number of bad incidents from inattentive four wheel drivers), (lower New York State is not a bike friendly area), My skill set for riding my FXST was very high and constantly improving, just from paying attention to your videos and using your teachings to better my obstacle drive-arounds. The "Dip" is extremely important for tight roads, alleyways, and driving on motorbike only roads. Thank you for keeping all of us informed and up-to-date on the proper techniques of becoming great motorcyclists.

My GL1500 handles great, I have in normal riding scraped in corners (not in a scary or stupid way I promise) but when going slow it intimidates me. My fear factor is fairly low when on the road, I trust the scooter to do what it was designed to do. I will push that handlebar and will lean in the corners. On the slow maneuvers I have to learn to trust it and that is MUCH harder. Being winter here on the west side of Oregon we get cold rain. Temps in the low to mid 40's for highs, it is keeping me off the scooter most of the time. So I bought the book too. I already have the course on USB. This spring I plan to get with some friends that I ride with and spend some time in parking lots. I want to do this with them so that we all follow the same ideas when we are on the road together. Thanks for the constant encouragement and demos in these videos. If I lived in or near you I would pay you for lessons like these you did with her. My instructions to you at the beginning of the class would be to push me until I cry or I do it right. I am much more motivated to ride well than I am to cry because the teacher pushes me and wants me to succeed lol. Thank you Motorman!!

Your final two sentences are ones that EVERY rider should heed. "Don't get aggressive on the road. Get aggressive when you're practicing." Aggressive driving is hazardous to everyone, and by aggressive I mean doing things that should be done on a track, not on public roads. High speeds, wheelies, disobeying traffic laws, etc., give good riders a bad name.
