Besides "pro" in their names and the relative sizes how do these lights stack up head to head?

I think you are mistaken on the turbo of the m2r pro. You said after the 4.5 minutes at turbo you have to recharge to get it again. This is not true. You only have a wait a few minutes for the light to cool down then it can reach the 1800 turbo again. It should be able to hit that 1800 lumens up until roughly 50% battery life then it will probably only get up to 1000-1200 lumens when you hit turbo.

@raging_rhino2582 4 года назад
Correct 4.5 min at 1800, then 145 min at like 750 (still more lumen than the SUREFIRE) then 45 min at 250 lumen before the batt is drained... The Olight beats the SUREFIRE by every measure

Work in Corrections. Prison keeps streamlights in the unit for use, but I have the m2r pro and just carry that on my belt. In my opinion the olight outclasses the streamlight in every way. Only issue I've had is the magnetic tail cap catches my keys alot and the light gets extremely hot while in turbo mode. So much so that i accidentally melted a hole in my hoodie (was big mad) when I wasn't paying attention bending over.
@solarissv777

another great advantage of olight is ability to power it directly from tailcap charger. I use m2r warrior as a bike light (among other things), and several times, when it was out of juice, ability to hook it up to a powerbank (in the bike frame mounted bag) was invaluable. The clip is also great-it allows mounting it in great variety of positions and even use as a headlight (in conjunction with a cap)

The g2x pro is oerfect for me. the 15 lumens on the first push is all i need but if i want ti bkast a dark area or say i get jumped i still have the high mode right there if i need it. Surefire on low has a nice tinted glow to it and i nice clear beam, very pleasing on the eye.

Keep it simple. I don't need all that mode especially strobe. Just high and low is enough for me. The Surefire has good flood but not a thrower. That's ok since i use it for short distance lighting. The nitrolon is excellent for cold weather and weight saving.

Just got olight warrior pro after having streamlight for 15years. Much better light, smaller and easy to use all features after one day, the tail switch is awesome for when you want a powerful light but the other button helps with a night time reading light of 1 lumen for fifty days if you hold for three seconds or strobe if you push three times fast for blinding an attacker. Let see if it holds up to years of abuse like my streamlight!

@billb410 4 года назад
@@freefieldtraining Lets see, M2R Pro not MR2 Pro. The Olight steps down from 1800 lumen's to 750 lumen's after 4.5 minutes. If you let the light cool you can get turbo aka 1800 lumen's again for another 4.5 minutes with out recharging. This can be done several times before turbo is unavailable. From a full charge the Olight will run for 2 hours and 40 minutes at 750 lumens then step down to 250 lumens for an additional 40 minutes. The Surefire is only 600 lumens for 1 hour 30 minutes. Sure you can hot swap batteries just buy as many spares as you want. Part number ORB-217C50. With the light in default mode a quick half or full press of the tail switch will give you medium or turbo constant on while a long half or full press will give you momentary medium or turbo. If you change to tactical mode the tail switch is half press is turbo while a full press is strobe for as long as the button is pressed. Your beam shot method is flawed. Shinning lights down an ally and seeing them reflect off of a reflective surface is not a good test. Since Surefire does not give Candela or throw distance I have no idea how far the G2X Pro will throw but no where near as far as the M2R Pro. Watch some flashlight reviews that have useful beam shot comparisons with the camera in manual mode and start testing in a similar fashion. the 21700 IS NOT a proprietary battery, sheesh. is an 18650 battery proprietary? and it has twice the capacity of an 18650, and 3 times the capacity of cr123's. The turbo mode running time comparison is silly as the all metal Olight will run at the plastic Surefire turbo mode output level for hours. These are two lights that really should not be compared to each other, they are in different leagues. Maybe the $200 Surefire Fury would be a better comparison, but even that falls short for light output and power capacity compared to the OLIGHT M2R Pro.
@michaelpersaud4587
@michaelpersaud4587 3 года назад
The olight 21700 battery is a Proprietary battery sheesh🤡🤡🤡🤡. I know someone already told you that but you might be too stupid to actually get it. So I’m telling you again. And no the olight turbo mode of 1800 is a joke at best. It gets way to hot to hold after a minute. And what happens when you need to charge that proprietary battery??? Your down a light for hours? You can’t hot Swap batteries unless you buy another olight Proprietary battery. But how do you charge that proprietary battery outside the light? Normal battery chargers will not work with olights Proprietary batteries since they have both a positive and negative on one side. So a 18650 or 2 cr123a compatible flashlight is the way to go. And if that proprietary battery fails you’re down a light for about a week or so until I can get you a new proprietary battery. Not every light will work for everyone. People have different needs and different use case for there light. Is the m2r pro And it’s proprietary battery works for you that’s great.

I've been using the original Olight warrior for work for a few months now and it's hands down the best light I've tried. It's brighter than any other light of a reasonable size and the recharging is a great setup. It sounds like they fixed my only real complaint about is which is the way the tail cap switch is setup. One option is a light press is momentary turbo at 1500lm and a hard press it stays on when released. The other option is momentary turbo with a light press and momentary strobe with a hard press. I use the second option just because they are both momentary, the strobe is ok but I just didn't want it to stay on.
@anticommoncore4065
@anticommoncore4065 4 года назад
" One option is a light press is momentary turbo at 1500lm and a hard press it stays on when released" This is NON-TACTICAL MODE, and it is ONLY 1000 lumen, momentary or constant, on tail switch. And the side switch TURBO, is only 1000 lumen in this mode. "The other option is momentary turbo with a light press and momentary strobe with a hard press." This is TACTICAL MODE, and it is 1500 lumen, momentary turbo or momentary strobe, on tail switch. And the side switch TURBO, is 1500 lumen in this mode. This is ONLY for the M2R, not the M2R Pro.

Winner because of 1800 lumens? How about some beam quality? Or the quality itself? Do you need that 1800 lumens at all times or 600? Do you need strobe at all times? And it will cost you for just another 21700 olight batteries. For surefire g2x you can cr123, rechargeable 16340/rcr223a, and rechargeable 16650 so you only need 1 battery unlike for 16340s you need 2 of them

Olight has let me down. My m2r pro stopped charging and I contacted olight. I sent my light in and they sent it back saying there is nothing wrong with the light the battery is the problem. Ok should the battery be covered by the five year warranty? Nope. So I purchased a new 21700 battery from olight and I got it in. The light worked for a few days and when I tried to put it back on the charger it never charges. So I took my olight warrior charger and tried that one. I know that one works. Still nothing the charger light always stays green never switches to red. My m2r pro is a paper weight. I guess I’m out over 150 dollars and got to use the light for 3 months. I called olight again and emailed them we will see what that say. Should’ve bought a surefire or a Streamlight. 1800 lumns is a nice number but now I get zero.
