Catfish bass bluegills crappie walleye whitebass largemouth.basd smallmouth@@Billyfishing_watch bass carp but we don't have northern pike. That I know of..I will get some pic together so you can see them yourself. Hope your family an yourself had a nice holiday season and all the the best in the new year. 👍
Hello from the USA Pacific Northwest where salmon and steelhead rule the rivers. Interesting to see the different gear and rigs you use. I’ve always wanted to visit Norway and the prospect of catching halibut from the shore make we want to visit even more. I’m a subscriber now. Great video! Thank you, Billy!
Eazy billy you ok pal, what a stunning mark mate. I like ya version of the dongle. I don't no why but my sense of humour i laff everytime after your cast the speed up walk bk to tripod hahahaha, i liked the fast driving to mark in the past aswell hahaha. Well done billy cracking fish. I was out saturday on the humber and managed 5 whiting 30 /35cm and a dab lol. I got an early one in the morning 4 a.m high tide , soAll the best billy from GRIMSBY.
Some really interesting rigging, and of course your commentary is utterly classic at times. I've only caught Pacific Halibut from boat or kayak, and the head shakes utterly give them away. Not so much from the shore? Give me Grey Cod over Halibut any day, especially for fish n chips...
Smashing scenery again, nice fishing platform and a great cod, I'd have been happy with the small one, thanks for the vid, Take care Billy, Norfolk Ray
Amazing Billy we could only wish we had fish like that here still .Apparently we used to get really big cod off our local pier years ago , now your lucky to get one any size .
Hi Earl, it's sad the way the fishing has gone, most places. But I have seen some old vids of great cod fishing from around the UK. Good times. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Brother Billy that was one nice cod shame the possible halibut got off . But as we know that's fishing. Great looking venue.keep the video's coming enjoying every one . P s how about some Dabs please brother.
Hey from Huntsville TX, love your accent and your energy, I usually fish open ocean here, so its very different, but like you said fishing is fishing and blah! blah! Blahhh! Thanks for making videos like this.
Bless you mate 😊, you certainly turn out some awesome videos 💯, great fun to watch!, i felt your pain losing those beasts😳 😢🤬🙄🙄lol, they were surely kicking mate but you were rewarded with a cracking cod 😉😁 nice work my friend 😊💯👍
Hi Billy, Fintastic video as always! Honestly thought you were going to spike your hand when you were putting the bait on. Had me on the edge of the sofa saying don't do it!! Haha Found your channel last year and love it, I repeat watch a fair few and I love how you explain lure retrieval for Cod when the water is cold. I have never caught a Cod on a Lure and a bit more savvy tactics from yourself is most appreciated. All the best man, would love to bump into you on a coastline one day to say thank you. Tight lines man
Great video Billy, well done, shame about the Halibut but better luck next time, always great to hear and see an angler more concerned with fish welfare than just catching it.
Hi Steve, glad you liked it. The halibut are fantastic creatures, and I hate to see them die pointlessly. But they taste good, so I usually just take one. But no lock yet 😅 thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
Ripper stuff Billy! I live just south of Ålesund and been trying to find some vids to help put me in the right spot for those bigger cod. Hands down best vids out there for how to get it done here in Norway. Love ya work 🤘
Brilliant video, lots of know-how for the less experienced fisher, nice one. Nice cod too, if only haddock were as big mmmm You're made of tough stuff, dunno if just above freezing is my sort of temperature :-)
@@Billyfishing_watch yeah I might have had too much too, but it was worth the wait! Oh, I'm gonna have to claim a tiny bit of your victory, causing you to go and catch the first double of the trip 😉😉
Well you know the script with me by now . In a great place watching you fishing and all my worries of work are gone for 21.16 seconds. Up the Dubs mate , Ps Superquinn Sausages are like hen"s theeth in Norway , Ha Ha so good they are ..Keep up the good work . Regards Pat
Good stuff Pat, I would kill for some sausages right now! But you can keep your superQuinn sausages, everyday all the way 🤣 Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
Brilliant video Billy love seeing the Norway videos and them big cod 👍 Heading down to Cork( from north east Northern Ireland ) Wednesday and trying down round Bere to see what it produces . Hopefully more than Strangford Lough throw’s up lol . Class video bro 😎👍
You will deffo get more fish in cork than strangford .Is there many fish in strangford other than fluke and mullet .When i was young the belfast telegraph used to show photo.s of huge common skate from strangford .sadly these were all dead skate .As far as i.m concerned ((anglers ))) ? Killed of the great common skate of strangford .more recently ((relatively )) there used to b some great female topefrom outside lough
@@robbiebanks9182yeah Strangford used to be good for huge common skate , nice cod of the wreck’s. Tope also like you said . No charter boats sitting in Portaferry doing any of that now though ( that I know of ) . . I fished it all my life from the shore , would get codling 2lb / 3lb but could throw up 5/6lb . Was also good for salmon and sea trout Still catch them but drastically declined. From about 2005 started fishing round Antrim coast, looking forward to Cork been watching a few videos and reading few blog’s . 👍
Very nice cod billy, get a couple good size fish fingers outta that one 🤣👍🏼, I hope your hunt for a halibut pays off soon brother, appreciate your efforts 🤘🏼👍🏼
Without doubt a fishing bro i would like to spend a day fishing with lived on the west coast and the Irish lads are just the best to spend a day or a night out with a rod . Well done Billy you will have that butt soon. Till the next one be well
Great video Billy, even if u lost two beauties 😂 ... wish we were there .... first one had to be a halibut... love that clicker noise! second one could of been an angler fish too maybe ? Always a great session when u nearly run out of bait... tight lights ❤
@@Billyfishing_watch Billy absolutely love your vids .but an Angler fish .and a monkfish are 2 different species .Comercial boys and fishmongers do sell angler fish tails .incorrectly named monkfish tails .During the 80.s there was a great spot in tralee bay for monkfish from the shore .Sadly a monkfish from tralee bay is a rare beast now boat or shore .Had one myself of Fenit pier .one very stormy july night 86 .bendy rods sir
I really liked this episode, today I saw about 3, but in one video you showed what equipment you fish with (Abu fishing rod 30-100 gr), it's nice that you show what you fish with and what you fish with, it's also about baits. I'm wondering if you leave out the jig with a rubber band for fishing alone. bottom and fish from the drop or take it out and fish in the depths? In one of the videos I also noticed that you are spinning and you use TWITCH with such a heavy bait :) and I see that you can fish very effectively. I think that learning will not go to waste, thank you very much Billy.
Hi, the fishing rod in the video is rated to cast from 150 grams to 300 grams. Not 30 to 100 grams. Unfortunately I am having trouble understanding what you are writing about. But your enthusiasm is much appreciated, thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch Hello Billy. I am writing using Google Translate, perhaps Google is transmitting the information incorrectly or distorting it. Sorry, Billy, maybe I worded my question wrong. I wanted to write this way :) I watched three videos and of the three, one of them was: "Quick catch up and talk about some products and equipment available in Japan", You presented (one model of rod and reel) Abu Garcia for 30-100gr link 2-4 max 50lb salry style bait and Shimano link pe 2-4 reel. My question is: how heavy baits do you use and do you fish with this rod in the same way as you fish for zander in the lake, e.g. by dragging the bait along the bottom? Are you fishing with this bait in the water? Is it from precipitation? What techniques do you use most often? thank you brother.
Yes I understand, most of the time in Norway the fish are between mid-water and the bottom. If I am fishing these two areas I will use lead jigs, slow jigs and fast jigs. If I am fishing close to the bottom I will mostly use soft plastics, swimming them slowly along the bottom sometimes contacting it. The deeper the water the heavier the jig. The bigger the fish the bigger the lure!
What’s better than fishing in the arctic on jagged rocks talking to yourself? Maybe eating cod cheeks and crispy cod skin🤤.. well done brother 😎.. stay warm!
Brilliant mate well done! Shame about the escapees but that's fishing! I did exactly the same last night out after Bull Huss I was about to give up and go home when I got a small bite which turned out to be a shore PB of about 13lb, result! Have you ever thought about guiding out there mate??? 😉🇧🇻🇧🇻🎣👍
Hi Damian. Glad you liked it brother, congrats on the PB bull huss. Fantastic fish. As far as guiding goes, I've got something in the pipeline. Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch cheers mate and as for the guiding I would definitely be interested! You know your stuff and the spots plus I know the crack would be brilliant! 😜🤣🇧🇻🎣👍
Billy, I'm curious. I've enjoyed watching the videos of your travels from Norway, around Europe and back to Norway again. How can you afford to do it, or did you win the Lottery?
Hi Billy, Im in Oregon. What is your source for the rods? I did notice the short butt distance to the reel which is my style. I'm not keen on the long butt. Currently I'm using a slosh 30 and a 12' downrigger rod with a short butt and am limited to 6 oz total on the line.
Hi Steven. I have seen the beautiful coast of Oregon, on the television of course! I would love to visit some day. The rods are from the UK, the reel position has been adopted from South African big game fishing. It allows you to fight the fish while on your knees to lower your center of gravity, so you can pull oversize fish from the shore. Tight lines Brother 😁👌
An eon is an indefinite period of time. A geologist could probably define an estimate range for those glaciers, but you still aren't wrong to use it in that context. Stay warm up there.
@@Billyfishing_watch Thank you very much for the quick response! I have never done surf fishing (but did a lot of carp fishing at rivers). Saw some people use spinning reels in other videos (warm water). Now i learned something.
@@Billyfishing_watch Thanks for the info. Where would you recommend staying? My plan is to stay for a week. Also what would be the best airport to fly into from uk and then the best way to get to Bodo once in the country? Thanks
Hi Bo, that's a tough one. Sometimes the weather makes me move, sometimes the tide makes me move, and of course if there's no fish I move. Also if it's a small area and I've caught a few fish, then I move as well. It also depends on the target fish. For instance, if it is pollock. And I have caught two or three in one area, then I will move because most likely there's no more around. I hope this helps, thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch i have experienced that if i dont catch fish withing the first 5 casts i mostly dont catch fish at all in that spot. Still i keep fishing the same spot for hours sometimes. Would you use the same method for all fish that dont school? Or just Pollock.
Hi. Before you go fishing, check the time of the tide. Then check the tide cycle, the good tides are spring tides and middle tides. Bad tides are generally neep tights, unless you're fishing places with faster moving water than normal. be aware when you arrive at a spot that you have arrived at a bad time and waste 45 or more , and waste time. Trying to catch fish that aren't active. If you have not caught a fish in the first 45 minutes or an hour, and you know the tide is good and running. Move! , maybe return later in the day to the same spot. And see what happens. Experience is the name of the game 👍
@@Billyfishing_watch thats kind of what i’ve been dooing, but i must admit that i often stick around for longer than 45 min. I was wondering how you find your spots for haddock? Do you look for sand and mud bottom, or is there more to it?
Once again great job. Yeah you made me laugh I lost plenty of hooks and weights this last summer. I know how it feels 😮😂. Thank you again for the video. Keep hooking em!
