Hello guys :)
How is your fishing going these days?
I went to Pebbly Beach on Catalina island expecting good size Bonita.
It was fun fighting with Bonies.
I needed to cast more than 50 yards to get a bite
and even casting was fun lol
I caught some good size Bonitas on 1oz metal jig.
Honestly, it was not the size I expected but no complaint :)
I believe 1.5oz jig is better to fish at the place.
Colt Sniper 42g jigs are going to be the one for the trip next time.

its the first time ive seen surf fishing jigging!!! Always thought of this but the weight of the rod is holding me back

I've never realized Santa Catalina island has such a secluded beach like this one. I really enjoy watching your videos cz it gives me a sense of realism but at the same time provides relaxation, yet very informative. Thanks!

Well well done I've added this kind of fishing to my arsenal already have 2 halibut and corvina this year Carlsbad ca first year using jig from shore I love it .

Are you using a telescopic rod? If so which one?

Oh.. that’s actually not for lures lol I got the rod from Korea for regular baits. Cast and leave it on a stand. You know. At the place, hot spots are far away from the shore and I needed to cast more than 80-100 yards so I had no choice. I am thinking to buy 12-15 ft long rod for long casting. It will be heavy or extra heavy, fast or extra fast action rod. When I get that, I will post how it works :)
