Nice video! Live fleas are my go to for pomps! I always keep some blanched frozen fleas around as a backup in case I can't find any live ones.

I usually use half a shrimp body/tail on one hook with a mini cut of shrimp fish bite on the hook as well to hold the bait in place while exposing barb. Then on other hook I use the head/body half of shrimp with same mini fish bite shrimp cut and I literally hook up non stop on whiting, jacks, etc without ever being near structure. Just my local beach access with open ocean. Half a shrimp w a shrimp fish bite piece on each hook on a double hook bottom sinker leader, is the ultimate surf fishing bait. Haven’t found anything better.

Never heard of anyone cutting the sand flea before. Thought the attraction was for them to move around under there

Try using a bright color jig with a bait trailer if water clarity is bad

What kind of hook are you using. Is that colored bit a float of sorts or a weight? I’ve never seen that setup before.
