I really appreciated this video and found it really helpful. except for that the two different times he told us how loud the clicks were, instead of letting us hear it ourselves, there were loud obnoxious sound effects.
I know right. Even the Bible warns about us making plans. “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog-it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." James 4:14-15
Well, two things. 1) Thanks so much for this video. I just got a Surface Laptop 4 and was looking for a great mouse for it. Thankfully the Arc Mouse is only $44 now, and I think I'm going to love it. 2) Sorry about your 2020 man. You looked like someone with so much hope in your eyes.
Wow, I bought a surface yesterday, and quickly realized that I needed a new mouse. I went and bought the arc mouse today and I absolutely and utterly *hate* it! Nowhere for my thumb and pinky to go, so I’m constantly just hovering them out to the sides. This makes for terrible cramps after just a few minutes, and also means that you have very little lateral control over the mouse. There’s no sensation of ‘resting’ your hand on this mouse at all. On top of this, it’s constantly trying to scroll when I’m just touching the buttons. This will be my fastest store return ever!
Thanks for the post. I felt the same. I was testing between the two mice (haha) up there and was torn. The Arc mouse looks great. However, when I started testing it, I felt uncomfortable since I found no place to rest the rest of the fingers other than the index and middle ones.
The arc mouse seems like it might be useful for college. That form factor definitely has less of a chance to be crushed by the textbooks in my backpack.
@@nathanielmatthew9555 An $80 Bluetooth mouse that usually is going to be part of a laptop kit. A laptop that at minimum is going to be like $350-$500, for college. It isn't even out of the question to get like an $800 one, although that is a bit much. It's a thing, and it's not a trust fund thing lol, more like just if your parents are willing to buy it for you or if you worked a job in HS and have some dough saved up.
I have the poppy color Arch. For my EXPERIENCE!!! ITS A NO GO!!! I have small hands, work from home on my computer and online classes, constantly using the mouse. Now I have carpal tunnel on my right middle & index finger. But its SUPPER FANCY LOOKIN, SLEEK, and connects Bluetooth w/o usb transponder! its okay if your not havin to use its CONSTANTLY :-)....just suxs bc my right hand is in paralyzing pain to the point of needing therapy. By the way I spent more than $80 on mines...
This metal scroll is a BLESSING when you work in CAD or BIM software. No touchpad or fancy "Arc" sh*t will ever replace it. Although, Arc design is wild XD If you use MS Word, or some low precision stuff, then maybe Arc mouse is for you. But designing with it is becoming pain in the ass XD
i remember when mice use to have the scroll wheel tilt left and right to scroll left and right but i guess they removed that feature like they remove everything these days :( rip headphone jack and sd card slot you will be missed
And my 2019 phone has both a headphone jack AND SD card slot :-)). All it took was not piling into the applecart. On topic: I've got the previous generation arc mouse and I'd like to get the new one, but I can't abide noisy mice. So I picked up a Logitech pebble. Super quiet and has BT le and rf dongle.
I got the mobile mouse without realizing it was a surface mouse. I just wanted something that had Bluetooth and didn't require any USB thing. Before that I had another mouse that was super silent. The mobile mouse was louder, but not that bad... until I clicked on the scroll wheel. Jesus. It felt exactly how you described the clicking on the arch mouse. Haha. I've gotten used to it and I just love it. I don't really need a mouse but it's great to have one when you need it.
I payed 100 dollars (4 times more on my country) for a logitech ergo mx mouse.... come on bro.. as architect and creator my hands cost even more than 100 dollars... my hands make money so any tool for taking care of them is priceless and worth any investment
Or just buy Logitech's, I have 4: the orignal wired one with a red ball, two wireless with the blue balls (that sounds weird!) and the new one with the angle with the dark silver ball. They all work wonderfully.
Thanks for your review. Just watched this. Question for you, on the Surface Arc Mouse can you just use the touchpad part of it to move the cursor completely around the screen or do you have to move the mouse around on the desk to move the cursor around the screen?
You did not make it easier for me to choose. I want a pocket mouse for my new mobile web development system consisting of a samsung dex on galaxy fold 3, a pocket pico projector, a foldable leather keyboard and a homemade foldable projection screen in a leather case. I'm tired of carrying laptops, tablets and any bags in general, so I want my entire "studio" to fit in my pockets. I don’t know if it’s worth saving or it’s not about the money and the "modern mobile mouse" is simply better, considering how much money I have already spent on all this. And I'm not a millionaire at all. P.S. It seems to me that the "arc" will take up much less space in a pocket, am I wrong?
It's weird: where I am in July 2023, the arc is way cheaper than the mobile. The surface mobile is, at the cheapest I've found it, $44.99 The arc is available for $39.97.
Hi i am from india i am about to buy Microsoft surface book 3 my usage is for ui and ux works , use multiple software and for sketching too do surface book is a good choice for thiss...
I want to know how good the arc mouse with the MacBook, I like the apple mouse because of the touch scrolling vertically and horizontally, yet the Microsoft is considered to be cheaper
if you're going to do a review... show the product more than yourself.... I think more people will stay tuned to see the video... not trying to be negative.
I have both and I love my arc mouse!!!!! I need a quick mobile mouse that easily fits in my purses, and this is it!!!! and I lov ethat its in pink!!! of course on my desktop I have an ergonomic mouse!!
So I got my surface Arc and my new surface pro 7, what I found is that is not only the arc mouse has a loud sound, even the keyboard of the surface pro 7 has a much louder sound. lol
Is it true that you have to lift your index finger from the Arc Mouse in order to do a right-click? People are saying that they can't perform right-clicks with their index finger resting on the "left-click side". I'm planning to buy this mouse but the inconvenience might defer me from doing so.
You definitely need to lift your fingers a bit in order to use them. I tried them at a Best Buy, and that was the reason that deterred me. These that feeling of the touchpad is great, but if you can’t register my clicks I was not going to get it.
@@lukecwolf can the inconvenience be ignored? I really eyeing this mouse ever since and now I got the money to buy one only to find out that such problem exists :(
I am really confused... You complain multiple times about the loud click noise of the mouse, but you don't let anyone hear it? You mask it with an annoying sound and don't make a real comparison between a "normal" click noise and the "annoying" one from the Arc mouse? It seems like a really unprofossional review just because of that fact. I can't take this review seriously. Best regards Cmd.Cool
For Microssoft, Arc Mouse, ...... no horizontal scrolling is available, it just scrolls web pages horizontally or the excel spreadsheets but not the actual mouse cursor (small arrow sign) on the screen ?
The practically of being able to scroll in the ways your describing for things like premier is really really reaching. If you added up all the "extra" time it takes to do it another way, how much time would you end up saving in reality in a year let's say? A minute, 5, maybe 20 on the high end? How much does that actually save you? 10 bucks if you're being super generous? If you're being honest, maybe pennies. Literal pennies. It does not save you money eith the time saved scrolling through timelines. That's one of those silly things tech people say to justify a price or purchase or feature. Why cant you just be honest and say it feels nice? That's fine on it's own. "Saves you and your client money" lmao. Give me a break. In the senario you painted, absolutely nothing is saved. Because you arent even working hourly. So nothing you said makes any sense.
@@Cesarhbb. I'm not mad? I thought it was eye roll inducing but that's about it. Just pretty cringey thing to say. It's pretty cringey when tech people make up use cases for things. When they make small or completely unnecessary things into this big deal just to have something to talk about. Even chanels like mkhd with his really really bad reviews lately. Where he complains about phone cameras and not having flag ship specs on things. When having cameras any better than we had 3 years ago is entirely useless to anyone on a phone. Cameras have been more than fine on phones for years now, overkill even. Someone who needs 4-8k photos won't be using a phone to do so. And there's nothing, not a single app, that will utilize flag ship specs anymore. 16gb on a phone and what not lol It's just an eye rolling observation I noticed for tech RU-vidrs like this in their reviews.
the flat mouse that bends that is gray in this video looks like the mouse my sister has except it has dedicated left and right click plus a scroll pad in the center. my sisters is even gray.
