It’s actually a “groin” built to prevent the loss of beach sand. No boats ever tied off here. Under the groin if the drainage for the Ala Wai canal to help prevent flooding in Waikiki
I love how you got dismantled in the comments by someone that actually knows what they’re talking about, how’s being a smart ass on the internet working out for ya
@@garymccallum667 And this is only the island of O'ahu. If you flew to the Big Island, you'd be in absolute awe. Hehe. There are two mountains that are ~4,200 meters above sea level...and the shorter of the two is an active volcano. They're both so high that snow storms occur at their peaks. Oh, there's also another active volcano too. The Big Island is also home to 10 of 14 climate zones, ranging from a tropical rain forest to alpine, as well as a hot desert climate. The southern most part of the island, colloquially known as South Point, is also one of the unusual places in Hawaiʻi where you can catch deep sea fish FROM SHORE! But honestly, all of the Hawaiian islands are pretty spectacular in their own ways. You really should come and visit one day, but make sure you stay at least 1 week if you're gonna make that long commute. 😄
Walls, is the place, in waikiki. There's a rock at the bottom of the the ally where he gose in at. We use to hang on to it underwater, whenever the water was getting pulled back out into the ocean. Fun stuff. For all of you that want to know where the drain gose, if you take it all the way down you'll hit a man hole with a ladder that pops you up at the Honolulu zoo right across from walls.
The drain goes all the way to the zoo? How are you supposed to get back there? By holding your breath? And this is a storm drain, right? It's not all the hotels' sewage, is it? As far as I know the sewage all flows down into a main that runs along the ali wai and out into the sea before it finally opens up a few miles away, in the depths of the ocean.... But, please correct me if I'm wrong...
@@saintadolf5639 raw sewage hasn't been intentionally let loose in the ocean, for a very long time now. All hotels have been tied into the waste water treatment infrastructure and then gets treated at sewage treatment plants on the east and south east side of Oahu. I used to play under the wall as a kid and would go as far back as I could at low tide. It's pretty dark without a torch.....
He's a bodysurfer, so I'm sure he's a good swimmer. Instead of climbing the wall to get on the pier he just swam a short distance to shore where it's closer to the showers. Look up a birdseye view of Waikiki Walls. 🤙🏽
It's not a storm drain. Its a concrete sea wall in Hawaii. That so called storm drain is just something they built to allow access to either side instead of climbing over or going around either end.
@@POLPO_WOOD are you trying to educate Keeping it Real? He knows Jaimie knows that and he’s doing it for the views. Keeping it Real is educating some of the viewers that might not know this!
Top right corner are 3 dots, select "DON'T RECOMMEND THIS CHANNEL" To avoid another pointless vid. And hit "Dislike" so other people don't have to see this BS either
I SAW ... not SEEN! I'm sure you weren't taught this in school. Correct yourself and everyone you know or encounter who don't know how to conjugate "see".
I used to rip the he'll out of Waikz' Walls in the early 80's and popped aerials up and over the front corner edge into the inside double up left side break coming to me from Publics
Lol storm drain. Wtf? That just Jamie taking the easy paddle to the other side of the sea wall. Looks fun. Bomb drops on a surfboard really are fun as hell and He does some cool bomb drops of the walls with the beater. Stay psyched 🤙
Waaaaa. I have never seen two people so perfect for each other, they both cry at the drop of a hat. Plus his empty stare where you know nothing is in his mind.
I'm soo jealous I would loveeee to go to Hawaii or Australia the only downside to beautiful tropical islands type places is all the damn deadly animals and insects and spiders as big as a small toddler....for such a beautiful paradise they sure have alot of ways for you to die tho lol I've always just wanted to go somewhere with crystal clear blue waters, white sands, palm trees, cool swimming holes with rocks you can jump off!! The closest I've got to anything like that was the Rivers in West Virginia up in the mountains.....not quite the same but clean fresh water, where you can see the bottom with smooth flat boulders for the floor, plenty deep enough and rocks you could jump off or use the swing and drop in, where I live in Southern Maryland we dont got anything like that, our rivers are pretty much flatland the water is dark and brackish and the floor is full of nasty, mucky black silt and theres nowhere you can jump off into it either, all our little creeks are nasty and shallow. Would be cool to just walk out your house and you n friends get together to go to the beach or swimming hole in the woods, but not around here unfortunately
I recommend coming! As long as you respect the islands and the locals there's no real dangers here. Not worse than anywhere else. Enjoy where you are though, I lived in NY, and I miss the winters and the trout lol
I'm a mainlander but know that place better than some locals. I still have scars from the shallow break I love that place.. almost as much as Sandy's... Best place ever
I love this police officer. He's just being real, reasonable and as fair as possible, and these people are interrogating and harrassing him. Unfortunately, it's people like this that make police officers unwilling to help, and vice versa, these people exist because they feel harrassed throughout life. It's a hard cycle to break...in fact, it's only snowballing into the future.
