This is the life so many of us has lived. This compilation is a very comprehensive look at San Diego surfing thru the years. Well done crew and thanks for a decent representation of one of San Diegos most important assets.

Really enjoyed this. Thanks for putting it together and sharing it. I am new at surfing and it's interesting to dive into surfing's history. I remember friends of mine who really caught the Endless Summer fever and have been surfing since the mid 90s because of that movie.
My sister and I surfed Law street everyday in the late 60's her name was Debbie and mine Cheri Lynch. also two other surfing sister had the same names Debbie and Cheri Melville! I ended up moving to Hawaii and my daughter Bethany lost her arm to a shark! Debbie Mellville became a successful pro surfer!
Hi Cherilyn! We wanted to say it is you in the Lyle Bond interview but the only confirmation we had was from a Crawford classmate who commented on Facebook--and from your niece or nephew who commented on the original post--great to see you see it! You just never know what we'll find in the archives!
I grew up in La Jolla and have surfed all over San Diego, actually I have surfed all over the world. I have never ever considered surfing Tourmaline. I may have enjoyed a female’s company a night or two in the parking lot though.
San Diego must've been nice growing up in the 1930's 1940's 1950's 1960's early 1970's Nice presentation The woodies old woodie station wagons we're amazing cars Those boards are beautiful Sorry I never surfed landlocked Missouri
Mike Diffenderfer was one of the guys responsible for naming Ehukai break in Hawaii the “Pipeline” I don’t blame them for not wanting Tournaline surf Park. But it turned out to be ok. Not a great break and it closes out most of the time. But good for beginning surfers. I personally began surfing in 1980.
Skip is in our skateboarding special. We plan to do another with more 80s and 90s and if we have Skip and Larry in the archive, they will be in the next one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-73PSvg43cWQ.html
