The second wave the guy dropped into was just awesome! Can't believe he made it. This is why after watching pipeline for over 50 years I'm still watching.
You're right. I watch it over and over again. Thank you. I am coming out with another one soon from the day before this one. I hope you will like it too. Please subscribe and share. I waited a long time time to see a swell this big at Pipeline
I really think this is by far one of the best surf videos I've see for a long time. The filming, editing and the music are just perfect. Keep up the great work.

Looks like a day for the Pipe history book. Great footage. The slow mo and the going-to-church music made it feel like a spiritual connection. Kudos to the guys that tackled that lineup. When it looks like the outer reef has an outer reef, the waves are feathering forever and the power of the entire Pacific wants to eat you up, you go "yeah... I'm on it". Nads man...big nads.
Agreed, loved the slow motion, staying on Benja really gives one a sense of the power in Hawaii, That white water. Most would have cut too early. Music was spot on! Thank you, Subscribed.
In a cinematic way you can call that "image in movement " ,the more you slow down the throughput the closer you arrive to that effect , it is like looking a painting at the museum , each frame become an artwork , in this case it give you as a spectator the time to appreciate the scenery, the technic ,the commitment ,and the power of this wave
3:16 I worked for O'Neill Wetsuit Company early 80's and would look at the pictures in Surfer and Surfing Magazines showing Pipeline and other North Shore Surf locations. About 40 years ago I flew San Francisco to Honolulu, rented a Car at the Airport and legally camped on the North Shore in Mokuleia for 2-3 weeks every year for 5 years during the Pipeline Contest. I saw these giant sets at Pipeline and it's very impressive when they are stacked up like what you see in the video.
This is probably my favorite and I’ve been watching everything since the days of Miki Dora and Wayne Lynch. This is soulful. The ocean, the waves, the surfing, the music. Takes a lot of courage to make slow motion these days when the trend is the opposite. Can’t express my thanks enough. Watching and listening to this video the first time kind of really surprised and moved me. Was like a reminder of why I loved surfing so much when I was younger.
Just an excellent video...Benji's wave at beginning incredible drop-in and barrell..Wow...Slow motion really captures the energy at Pipe....The sound of the ocean & the music is really nice and fitts perfectly....I think Koa Roth is probably one of the best Natural Fitts for pipeline..his stance justs seems to bring out the natural hawaiian spirit in the wave.
Best Edit Ever ....... I Repeat ...... Best Edit Ever ........ Most Dangerous Wave Ever ....... Let's Break it Down ....... Best Surfers Ever ........ Slowwwww Mooooooo❤
Best Ehukai footage … afternoon slow mo back lit of such profound beauty intimate honorings … punctuated by some of the most stunning rides … and best fit music … thank you so much for sharing.
Maybe I'm impatient but after the first 5 minutes I had to watch it 2x speed. either that or I needed some herbal supplements to get in the mood. Great footage either way. That Benji Brand drop and recovery should be a contender for wave of the winter!
I lived on the North Shore a long time ago. Pipeline was always a scary wave this video almost painted it as a spiritual destination with the music a scary place with a shallow reef
Insane. Instant bookmark. Off-the-charts cinematic quality. Mesmerizing slow-mo, awesome music and the hypnotic rhythm of set after set breaking. Surfers getting swallowed by these giant caves are an added bonus, but the waves alone make this an instant classic. Benji's drop is a miracle, and Eimeo's barrel time the definition of eternity. Thank you!
Wow, and Double WoWWoW! What I appreciate most is that you let each rider FINISH his ride. I hate it when editors cut away when a rider is still savoring his ride; or eating it. And that endless monster set at the end, just let it roll and roll!!
You did an awesome job with this edit the best I have seen on Pipe. Everything is edited so fast in all forms of media, it is super to see every moment in slow motion. Your music selection was "Pearl" it captured the drama amazing! You really know how to "Frame" things, take your formula to Sunset and the rest of the North Shore you have a niche that no one has figured out in the 40 years I have been watching Surf Movies! "Slow is Smooth, and Smooth is Incredible" Aloha! The Jamie beatdown was epic and I love the guy just sayin'! (LOL)
Keep the cameras steady Brudah like you are dong and your success and happiness will blossom like a classic Town and Country shirt!(LOL) Seriously what a brilliant innovation! @@swellpatrol5638
Yeah I can't believe Benji stayed up on that drop that was insane. When pipe gets big like this and starts popping off at second and third reef it's got to be one of the most insane places to be on the planet I mean it's just wall after wall a giant perfect waves coming at you it's just insane. But I've said this before and I know it sounds crazy I think it gets a little easier for them when it's breaking its second because it's not as Steep and they kind of get that role in with that huge bottom turn to set themselves up for that huge Barrel and by no means am I saying it's easy it just looks like it's just not such an insane drop but then you see Benji dropping out of the stratosphere. The shot of dude body surfing was insane. But the slow mo shot of Jamie getting blown up was just epic. This is a great video. Music and sound edits are perfect. Nailed it son. Nailed it. Epic video. The sea was angry that day my friend. Like an old man waiting for soup at a deli. RLTW 3/75
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on the music the editing and all of these rides. I was saying the same thing to myself about each of these rides while I was editing this video. Once again, thank you. Your comments inspire me to work hard and create. I hope you can find time to my future videos and to also look at a few of some of my past videos.
SUBBED. Loved the slow-mo. Def you can see a lot more of the little things that the surfers are doing on the wave this way. Cool to see all the little adjustments and different styles everyone has.
What’s the name of the jazz tune that comes in at 5:14? These guys are killing it, the one handed right, left drop by eimeo is one of the wonders of the world!
Good video and editing mate. I'd like to see after each slow mo the surfer in real time as I think at full speed it shows the danger in waves of consequence. Cheers from Oz.
@@swellpatrol5638I think these are two different movies. This one is a piece of art so .... Maybe 2 models for one session. One mixed movie and one pure 😊
Amazing! Stunning! This is it! Not only tubes and tubes and tubes non stop. This is a story. A place. A moment. A man. And waves. From 5:10 to the end, the music editing might be improved. At 6:30' I didn't feel emotion looking at giant waves... Because of the music? Maybe. Both picture and sound are a stereophony for our mind. Love your work mate!!
First, Thanks for watching and commenting on my video.Your comments inspire me to keep working hard. Second, you're right I need to make improvements in my music are editing. Thank you for caring enough to let me know what I need to improve. I can't wait until the next to the next big swell to make those improvements
@@swellpatrol5638 great!! Of course. Happy to see you answered to my message. I'm not sure about my opinion in musics (it's so personal) but surely positive to improve for good results. Glad to subscribe and see more from you.
