For the most part, Piha is a little bit wild. Widely known across New Zealand for being dangerous with strong currents and large waves. It even managed to keep a whole 12 Seasons over 16 years of the show Piha Rescue going. This is where I've learnt to surf over the last 3 years since I moved here. Something a lot of people warned me would be a mission! But I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way!
While most know this beach for its more wild behaviour, living here has let me see another side. Because on the smaller, calmer more gentle days this beach turns into heaven on earth. With beautiful hues of blue and soft pastel skies and sunsets that turn the whole beach golden.
So on these days, when the waves are mellow and slow, I like to make the most of it, and sometimes this means surfing twice in a day. Days like this make me so happy, and exhausted in a way I can describe.
Thanks for your love and support! X enjoy! ☺️
