Surf watches are one small part of the bigger digital watch tech tree - which I cover here -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oiUIYDQOH8A.html
Also Tudor - currently one of the sponsors of Big Wave Championship (and Nazare challenge) - they are pushing Pelagos and BB58 and sponsoring Nic Von Rupp.
Always watching ;) it came up as it realised I missed out Nixon and freestyle in my US digital overview and since that point I’ve been listening to beach boys on repeat!
@@IlluminatingWatches haha awesome!! Endless summer was a stunning movie and you're the first to spot that Dacos and they are as rare as rare things!! I had both freestyle and rip curl watches back in the day and both leaked 💦😅💦😅
Saw a big horn at the start of the video, thought I came across a rude site LOL, another amazing information video, love it!!! I would own a G-Lide and I don't surf, even though I live on the coast lol
Ha ha ha I’ll have you know that’s an important historical icon!! Cheers matey. Was chuffed with this one . I’ve never surfed ever and have like three of these types of watches!
Another awesome video 👏👏👏👏 There’s something so cool about surfing watches 🏄♂️ So many unconventional colourways and designs compared to more traditional watches.
Hello my friend, how are you? I would like to know some information about the size of this model. I have a Shark Freestyle like the one in the video, but the module is leaking. Do you know if there is any watch model that will fit? I believe the GShock dw5600 module will fit, but I don't have one like it to test... If you can help me I would be very grateful, because I am from Brazil and here we don't have access to these super cool models🙏🇧🇷
Wow what an in depth look into surf watches, I love the color schemes of the shark surf watches! Any chance of a history of US watch manufacturing video coming soon?
Thankyou - I’ve done electric watches and digital watches from US (especially Timex) but can definitely go broader! I’ve got a list of ideas I still want to do e.g. Enicar , India watches part II but I’ll do a poll to see what folks want next
Hi. Thank You for this marvelous video sir! Is there more technical video about waterproof techniques used in surf watch construction? Most of them are having plastic/composite cover and strap, so they should be ok only for few years as those materials will start to deteriorize from sun+salt+water because atoms are connected only with van der Valls bonding. (My gshock bezel broke apart while cleaning with toothbrush)
Incredible video as usual, your research are always insanely good ! Thanks for this, that casio windsurfer has caught my eyes since some time, but it's kinda expensive saddly :/
Some fascinating history and important pieces here, as well as a plethora of horrible styling choices. 🤣 Just btw Animal collaborated with Sekonda and their very surfy dive watches (fabric n velcro, steel bezel, horrible colours) prop up on Russian Watch groups sometimes.
@@IlluminatingWatches It really is, and those original Casio Surftimers are becoming unaffordable. Nixon I've found is a bit of a gateway brand, younger people know the brand and it also sells, Timexy 70's peices.

Ha ha that proves you watched to the end! The duck watch looks fun and they made some good jokes on the website about being from Detroit and making a surf watch
What a COOL topic! I own a cool flour. green Rip Curl and transparent Nixon digital watches. Went through a scifi-lookin surf watch phase few yrs ago hehe Amazing vid as usual!
