This doctor seems like a genius and is so professional. I can’t help think that he’s way overqualified to do hair transplants. I bet he’s very expensive!
@@drgarylinkov I would trust you with my life, much less my hair, because you genuinely seem like a very honorable doctor. 😊 Don't ever give that up, even for money! 🥰 A lot of other doctors are unethical and just about money. I'm sure you already have a lot of money but please don't ever let greed dictate your ethics. The world needs more of honorable physicians.
I have no interest in a hair transplant whatsoever I just wanted to know what the procedure looked like and then clicked on this video and I’m really amazed honestly, this guy seems absolutely brilliant and I can’t believe his channel and videos have such little recognition given how fantastic he is
For me it was very easy. I started losing hair at the age of 20 and simply said fuck it and shaved it all. Now at the age of 33, it is so natural for me to be bald, that when I see some hair grow I immediately get a shave. Didn't have any problem finding a beautiful woman(been together for close to 10 years) or felt ashamed in any way. On the contrary, It gave me confidence.
My comment that I just put out. Fellas your hair doesn't make you. You make you. When I met my husband he was 38 years old. Oh he had already started balding. He didn't realize this because his hair was very long and it covered up a lot of his thinning. Plus he was in denial. When I brought it up to him he became very emotional. I laughed. He said are you laughing at me. I said no the whole situation. If you think that I'm dating you for your hair you're sadly mistaken. I love men with shaved heads. I also love men with fur on their face. Be it a beard mustache goatee I like it all. I express to my husband don't fret. I never liked you because of your hair. I like you because you're a tenacity you're intelligence your kindness your ability to capture attention, with your words not your hair. And fell into laughter. I said your hair doesn't make you you make you. And that's that it's as simple as that. He now shapes his head and I love it. I love every inch of him. We've been together 21 years. On the other end of the spectrum. My immune system has seen fit to attack my hair follicles. I'm going bald. I can try many things such as shots and chemicals or drugs on my hair. I have a hard time with synthetic medications. I don't even want to go there. I'm super excited to get to the point where I can pixie cut my hair, and get a whole bunch of wigs. I'm not my hair. Never was. I'm still the same person I am as I was with my hair. I'm not emotional over this because I realize we have a lot of things in our system that are causing havoc on our bodies. I wouldn't assist with so many women and men. It's all good.
I started losing my hair in my 20's and immediately started shaving my head because I saw a dude with a comb over and didn't want to ever be that guy. I guess it wasn't aa bad for me because I had always kept my hair really short (almost a buzz cut) because I never wanted to deal with combing or or dealing with it.
@@humbertosantos6229 Yea, it's cool to not have to worry about it. I'm 49 and it's been so long since I've had hair that it would be weird now. I guess if I could just snap my fingers and have a full head of hair I'd probably do it but it's not really a big deal to me. I've got a friend who's 28 or 29 and he's really freaking out over losing his hair so I guess I'm lucky to have never gone through all that. I actually still had hair when I started shaving but I could tell it was thinning and I just didn't feel like dealing with it. I've gotten lazy about it in my old age and only shave it maybe once a week or so. Some girls like me, some girls don't. I stay in shape and make ok money so there are enough of them that like me to keep me busy.
He prob won't because he's straight to the point and actually makes sense people like fast and cheap info that's normally flawed this guys intelligent.
Probably the most thorough and professional content on hair transplants! May I ask, does curly hair have any effect on the decision making or the process of the transplant and if so, how?
Just want to shoutout to your video editor. They make magic happen with the footage, very trendy with content that's out now. Also love your professional takes on the video bc I had seen this one before. Ps - Cain had a good result as per his Instagram!
I had a friend who freaked out when his hairline started receding. He had a strip of hair moved to his forehead to restore his original hairline. Of course, his hairline continued to recede, leaving him bald behind the strip of healthy hair. He ended up looking RIDICULOUS, with this totally fake-looking strip of hair all alone on his forehead. He had to shave that strip of hair daily so he didn’t look so comically bad. Why the surgeon never mentioned that his hair would continue to recede is a mystery.
Whilst you would hope the surgeon would inform him of this, isn't it also your friends' responsibility to research this for himself? If he'd asked the surgeon and they lied about it, that's one thing but to spend presumably a lot of money and not look into the long term effects is rather silly
@@Reynolds69er This is a surgery, do you expect people do be able to accurately do research on an open heart surgery too? The patients do not have PHDs in medicine, they don't have any medical degrees, very likely. They can't be expected to know enough information about the procedure to even know WHAT to research, let alone understand all the nuance involved.
@@rdizzy1 no, I would not expect people to do research on heart surgery because anyone having heart surgery would almost certainly NEED heart surgery, therefore any research they do would be unnecessary. The difference is, if you're choosing to have a hair transplant in the same vain as any cosmetic surgery, you're researching who to do it with, prices and final results. You would expect the person to do the tiniest but of research to find out how they actually work.
This is the first video of yours I have seen, you immediately gained a subscriber. Excellent combination of medical info mixed with your own personal opinions and experience. Keep up the great work, I hope the YT algorithm rewards you and your high quality content!
The thing I like about Dr.Linkov is when he speaks his statements are factually on topics and less opinionated. Very humble and professional which is why I subscribed to this channel.
Back in university, I used to work at a hair transplant surgery. I had to help process the follicles and cut them according to the needle gauge used in different areas of transplantation. It was hard, accurate work but it was $25aud an hour. The process (even 18 yrs ago) was amazing.
And I had to subscribe. Omg I had no idea of the amount of work that goes into the type of grafts the patient received. 1500 individual hair follicles removed and reinserted into his head? Unbelievable and so very interesting! Much respect to you, Doctor, and those in the plastic surgery profession.
I’m very glad I stopped and watched this. Great video. Makes me feel more hopeful after CV-19 & something called plaque psoriasis caused me to lose a lot over the last two months. My Dermatologist told me not to worry, that the hair will grow back after treatment, but I can’t stop watching videos like this.
Same here, bro. I used to have aggressive plaque psoriasis. Constant scratching and bleeding. Was afraid my hair was falling out, but it wasn’t a hair issue, but a skin issue.
I don't feel insecure when I saw that I'm starting to see my hairline goes up than where it should be staying but if I am given a chance to undergo this process, I'll gladly take it ❤️
To all the people who are suffering hair loss and feeling self conscious about it, if you really wanna go through this procedure, then do it. If you think it will genuinely make you feel better, then go for it. But also know this, and never forget it, if someone makes you feel like crap for going through a natural process in life, then they are not worth it. That is not the kind of person anyone should want in their life. And also, the shaved head with a short goatie look is badass!
As someone who as a teen had oily skin, large pores, suffered from acne, and so was left with many visible veins in the nose, I envy your clear, even, almost poreless skin. Things are better now though. I lived in Japan for more than a decade and at a certain point discovered Biore products, starting with their nose masks, which finally cleaned the sebum out my pores and eventually allowed them to shrink. The general reduction of inflammation caused by that dirty old sebum led to the gradual reduction of veins near the surface, for which I was hugely grateful. Vigorous washing with Spectrogel-type cleansers and I suppose also a reduction in testosterone in my system - I'm 73 - means that finally I'm not quite as smooth as you, but good enough. I also have mild male-pattern baldness, but the hell with it.
I was 16 when I started loosing my hair by 18 I was in full male pattern baldness. from 16 to 18 I was in total denial went around with a winter cap on so sad I was so self conscious ! when I was 19 got my first and only wig problem with that was they gave me way more hair then I ever had to begin with it was definitely the darkest part of my life. in those days hair transplants were in their infancy when you got one it was way painful people got bad infections and they looked like dolls hair. I wouldn't have had one even if I could have afforded it ! Hopefully one day they will come out with a real cure so no kid will ever have to go through that.
Yes, the research seems very slow. Probably because there are no grants for hair transplants because it is considered cosmetic. Hair cloning looked like a big deal about 20 years ago, but has gone nowhere.
So sad…i started balding at 15 and soon about to turn 25 and still extremely insecure about it. I wear a cap everywhere i go and I always refuse to do anything that involves taking it off :(( i even distanced myself from many family members that would make fun of me about it. I sometimes can’t believe how much it has impacted my life
I had a housemate once who was balding. My neighbor thought that he was much older than me but he was actually eight years younger. I was surprised that people judge you based on your hair.
I had hair transplant surgery in Bulgaria, and I’m very happy to see that everything that dr. Gary said has been actually followed by the clinic I visited, so they seems to follow best practices in hair transplant surgery. Great video!
Thank you @dr. gary Linkov . I watch a ton of your videos and it really sparked my interest in hair transplant. Too bad I live in LA and not NY or would love to go to your clinic.
Been thinking about this for so long now... my dad had a moon when he was 19, and I lasted untill around last year, 22, before it came around. But due to, I assume, stress, it just kicked off so fast that now I'm basically having a constant military cut cuz there's basically a 75% moon already.
You are absolutely fabulous. You’re the total package 😜. I appreciate your channel, your manner, your knowledge and concern. Says a lot about you. I’ll be watching.
Will be making a video on this soon. Too much misinformation. FuE is the extraction method, and has nothing to do with DHI, which is the implantation method.
Thank you because dhi is a instrumental tool they use to implement the hair follicles which I feel like it implements better instead of them using the other tool
Not sure how I got from the human anatomy channel, looking at cadavers and how the body works to hair transplant and plastic surgery… very interesting stuff though.
So ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) keeps the cells alive through providing energy for the grafts or (cells) contained in the grafts. 👏 The level of knowledge people have sometimes is commendable.
is it normal you have thin hair when your other family members have thick hair? and you have less hair at top than side when your family(both side) start loosing hair at late 30s to 40 years old and you are just a teenager? btw great video and very informative video doc, hope you're doing you're best
I'm so fortunate that I have been able to accept my hair loss. Obviously, it SUCKS losing ones hair. But.....it's all vanity. And when I accepted it, I was able to move on, and it was a non issue.....unless someone brought it up, which still baffles me. Why are YOU concerned with MY hair? Or lack thereof? There are worse things. I get it, but be thankful it's not ALS, or cancer, or any number of "things" you could be "suffering" through. Peace.
I hear you. I’ve accepted my autoimmune hair loss condition as well but many people are very bothered by their hair loss and restoring it gives them a lot of confidence back.
vertex, mid-scalp are bald, feeling hopeless even though I have good density elsewhere. Hope some doctor can perform a miracle for me, I've been so sad about hair loss for the past 15 years. Just want to be able to take a photo while I am still relatively young and not feel awful about how I look.
I know it’s tough but the good thing is there is something that can likely be done. Reach out to some hair doctors (like me), schedule consults, and do something that will make you feel happier! Life is too short to be sad for too long.
Yea if this is having such a bad affect on ur life it’s might be worth considering. I’m lucky in that it doesn’t affect me quite as much. It does depress me sometimes but I try not to think about it a concentrate on the good things about my body. We can’t choose the bodies we inhabit but we can try to make the most of it. As long as it works well and I’m healthy it helps to mitigate the misery I feel about my baldness
Im 1.5 months Post Op and I cant believe I waited so long. I'm pretty healed up and i have a hairline again already that I havent seen since 18! I can't wait till i hit the 6 mo and yr mark.
you really seem a thoughtful doctor, professional and well mannered. I m not interested myself in a hair transplant but if I was I d surely want you. not that it s even possible I have the super diffuse thinning and never would have been a good candidate.
Trying to accept hair loss. Still no reason to shave it cause my head is fairly full but i am embarrassed to do it later in life because my head has a weird shape at the crown and back.
A good middle ground. That makes u feel really good is doing a skin head. Or close. Hairs look thicker and . Gives u a preview of what if could be like
What a great video, I have so much hair, I have even consider Lacer to remove some from my forehead and I'm a woman but here I am watching this interesting exploration just because 😅
I had a Dhi procedure. One doctor one technician. Doctor took the hair out . Nurse split the hairs. The technician then put the hairs in a pen and the doctor did the implantation. 1800 grafts completed in 6 hours by one doctor . And the price! $3800 .... I’m really happy with my results:) ps absolutely no swelling with the Dhi method...
@@drgarylinkov Thessaloniki Greece. Dhi have clinics all over the world. I chose Greece as it’s a lest than four hour flight and half the cost as having it done in England.
Doctor you mentioned how covid 19 has seen to cause hairloss and thats exactly what has happened to me, its been 7 months now with continous hair shedding but also ive noticed a receding hairline within those 7 months too, is it possible that the telogen effluvium from covid sped up a male pattern baldness ? ive been so distraught
The terminology here is misleading. DHI is just a way of implanting hairs. Has nothing to do with how the hair was harvested. I’ll make a video to explain this.
I'm now on 1mg Finisteride and 0.5 mg dutasteride With micro needling thrice a week using 0.5 mm derma roller with continuous scalp massages 😓 Guess the fear of hair loss gives you more hair loss than the actual thing itself 😶
I really want to cover my bald front, middle and crown. Is FUE going to allow me to have a very short haircut or a skin fade then? Are these holes going to look bad?
14:49 Curious that you did not comment on this doctor's weapon of choice. It is obviously not manual punching, I suspect a toggling direction rotary device, perhaps with a sharp but maybe a blunt punch. Outer diameter looks to be 0.8ish?
I actually had my hair transplant surgery with Dr Sean Behnam and, as you see in this video, he is very professional and a true master. I highly recommend him!!
Binge watching all your stuff I love it Wanted to be a plastic surgeon when I was little .. then I found out ya have to work on dead bodies and it freaked me out
@@drgarylinkov Thanks for your Dr Gary But im 16 I dont think they do it for me. this has been always a question that I have never found out how it works You know women always at hair salons for their eyebrows I mean they always pull their eyebrows out and why they always grow back but hairs don't??
@@drgarylinkov thanks for your reply but a patient don’t know if the led is used properly. I am red hair with ultra white skin .. honesty I am scared of this kind of light. The sun burn my skin and I will do the hair transplant only for covering my skin from the sun light. That’s the point from my side .
@@drgarylinkov I hate white dot ,doctor I want to make hair transplant iam so depressed 2 years ago, right now iam on finasteride and only see some improvement but still hair on my crown little thin, it bothers me to much, but Iam scare because i don't like the scars from FUE procedure, and my hair is thick on the donor area and every where only on the crown. What suggest you to do not have this dot o minimize it as much as I can ?
My hair started going thin in my early 20's, but my late 20's I just had to shave it off. At this point I've too much loss - I would need 6000+ grafts if it was even possible. I'll just stick to shaving my head in the shower every day :) You seem very knowledgeable and it was enjoyable watching this video. A lot of people here in Europe go to Turkey for cheap hair transplants, but I'd rather be bald and look normal than have a weird looking hair transplant done by unqualified people with little experience.
Listen up fellas. Your head doesn't make you. Not at all. I know you may feel insecure about it. I knew that my husband's luxurious long blonde hair would not last forever. I knew that he had started balding in his 30s. He was very emotional about that. I assured him that doesn't matter. Especially because I love shaved head. I love a shaved head and a goatee or beard. Your preference I love the scruff. Truly your head does not make you. You make you. For women that worried about frivolous things like hair. Do you really think she's worthy of marrying. Over something so insignificant. I would rather have a good man. Then a full head of hair and marrying a complete dick. Truly your hair doesn't make you.
Great question. Generally no. However, if it’s done daily with deep penetration you can generate significant scar tissue that would then compromise blood supply and in turn hurt the transplant.
Great content, I'm getting a transplant in September. I was told to stop monixnil 6 weeks prior as this can cause increased bleeding. Thoughts? Many thanks.
