Surgical Management of Rectal Cancer 

Rectal cancer is colon cancer PLUS. In this video, we build on our last video discussing the surgical management of colon cancer to add on some of the nuances of rectal cancer management. We review a basic staging workup and the reasoning behind the various tests, how the TNM stages differ from colon cancer (they don't), decision making regarding neoadjuvant therapy, the main surgical options for rectal cancer (TA excision, LAR, APR), total mesorectal excision (TME), and finally have a brief aside into management of obstructing colorectal cancers. It's a video jam packed with information, so we apologize for the length but hope it is still helpful.
