@@jeanblaaa considering the advancement in technology it is made as painless as it appears to not exist at all. However it depends from person to person comparing their endurance. To me it felt like there was a slight pull within the jaw and swelling caused discomfort to my tongue. You got to have a different brushing and cleaning procedure for some time. It is better your toothbrush has very soft bristles and you try to avoid the area of gums for a while. Moreover, for some time you have to sleep straight and have your head slightly elevated. More like you are put into a very dsiciplined style of living. It seems different when you start eating food because of alignment. But soon you will become accustomed to it. Overall, for me, the only troublesome thing was getting stitches removed. It was nothing but tickling.🤣 (I just personally dont like it.)

@@jeanblaaa however I have a bad case of headaches from that. And for me it was personal. Nothing bothered me more than the headaches caused by stress and a little bit of acidity. That's all. People usually dont get headaches from it.

Locust Hypnosis i don’t have braces I have Invisalign, no my mouth wasn’t clamped shut, it was swollen it was swollen for about 2-3 days, I got it on the bottom

@@extremelynormalperson These types of things (jaw surgery, Orthodontics) go beyond aesthetic results, they also have a functional purpose. Beauty = function and vice versa. It can improve breathing, posture, headaches and whatever arises from improper facial development. These things aren't just social constructs, they're rooted into biology, there's a reason they are unattractive. This isn't based on nothing or made up, or can simply be "dismissed". Getting therapy is very vague and "accepting your body" isn't that straightforward. You're gaslighting her by saying that her faults don't matter when they very well may matter and impact her life and confidence. My mother personally thinks if you have something you can fix and it'll help your confidence it's nothing to scoff at, confidence is extremely important. So you should go ahead and fix it.

I'm getting one of these ops done next year. My doctor said the metal screws will stay in for the rest of my life. But in the rare case might be taken out if they get infected.

Well usually people who take this route have more problems other than aesthetics. I am undergoing the process toward jaw surgery for an underbite, honestly I could live with it if it were JUST an underbite, but I have jaw pain when eating, yawning, or doing anything that involves opening my jaw, only some of my teeth come together when chewing, and I have trouble chewing. Now this is just me and my underbite, some of these surgeries might just be for aesthetics, but most are suppose to fix things other than surface level problems. I think having a better smile is just an extra benefit, if I can fucking chew without my jaw clicking I won’t regret a god damn thing. If anyone is reading this 2-3 years from now and want to know how my surgery went, don’t hesitate to ask, I always wonder how people feel after going through this process but they never answer, I want to make an effort to encourage anyone who’s going through the same thing as me. As of writing I just got braces a week ago. I’ll update anyone curious of my progress or post-procedure, just reply to this comment and I’ll get back to you ASAP :)

I prob also have to much teeth in my upper area but I don't know. and my jawline is diffrent too from before braces it really looks like I need the 3rd procedure

Reprisal I a severe overbite is not a cosmetic reason lol...you SHOULD get surgery because your bite is abnormal and can lead to complications. Get it by all means!

Hi people. I got double jaw surgery where they moved my upper and lower jar more out, and they tilted my chin.. the first 3 days was awful, but then it's really just getting better so fast!! :D I'm 8 weeks post OP now and I'm perfectly fine :D
