That was hilarious 😂 to eliminate the glue strings you need to make a circle or two with the glue gun, two quick circles using your wrist that usually separates the glue and doesn’t form any strings, it gets some getting used to I have been using a glue gun for over 30 years and it’s become like second nature before I pull the glue gun away I form those two circles very quickly and it seems to cut the glue string, this technique works 90% of the time😊 hope this helps you

Hello Dot, you deserve a 10 out of 10 for effort 🥇, I think your experiment was really good, it showed you and us what works and what doesn't, I think they all looked quite good in the end. Glue is my Nemesis, I even get glue strings with super glue 🙄 🤬 I have trouble getting things to stick where I want them to no matter what sort of glue I use. I like both moss methods for the roof so I may combine them. I have a love/hate relationship with glue but I mostly disregard hot glue altogether. I think they all look good at the end. The bark was my favourite. Best idea to do samples before the actual project. I'd have gone gun how and done something straight on the project and messed it up 😂. I'm enjoying your videos and your sense of humour 😊

Patience pants? I don’t think I’ve ever had that clothing item in my closet! 😂😂😂. Where do I purchase them?! I rarely ever use a hot glue gun on mini builds … I don’t have the finesse (patience?! ) and on the desperate (highly impatient) occasions I’ve tried it, the glue doesn’t adhere over time. The bark and egg carton techniques both look great! I saw videos (channel names …gone from my memory, of course!) several months ago about using an old bath towel to create a cottage’s thatched roof! It was pretty darn authentic looking! You are a trooper, Dot! Whew! And your sense of humor is an extra treat! Can’t wait to see the sweet cottage progress! Love ya! ❣️Kathleen

Okay Dot I used egg cartons on my walls in the kitchen . All I did was start in a brick pattern like you did with glue. Then I watered some glue down put some egg carton pieces in the water down glue . Let them get saturated and then layer them on into the cracks .This technique is very forgiving and fun. Try it out you may like it.I hope this helps you out 💕💕💕💕

That's okay- I spent a few hours deciding on simple additions to a shelf unit- let it dry. turned it over to cut the excess trim, and cut off the part that I needed on there also. And did both sides before I realized it. I sympathize with your adventure. Now I have to do everything over, after I get the remnants unglued.

Yessss Elaine🤗 I never did like hot glue. I mainly keep one around to lend to other people. I'm not good with hot tools. That 3 in 1 glue was pretty nice to work with. 🥰✨
