Sweet ride, considering this frame, strange they have QR dropouts for a disc brake bike, but luckily my wheels can be converted :) you ever get disc rub on the rear after taking the wheel out?
hey thanks!... if you set it up right the rear hubs to the rear dropout, it will be fine.. no disc rub for me.. but setting up the alignment is kinda annoying. I suggest to get the Midnight special.. :) QR dropouts with disc brakes is actually not rare.. my Titanium KOna Rove is also QR with disc brakes :) check it out on my other vid....
Sweet! I checked out your other videos too, great choices! I have a Specialized Diverge aluminum frame also size 52 grx 400 and want to get a steel bike as well. How did you end up selecting the Surly Straggler? 650b wheels? Or did you consider the Surly Midnight Special, or the All City Space Horse or Cosmic Stallion? (I think the space horse has similar steel tubing to the straggler?) Or the Salsa Vaya? I also like Ritchey frames but more expensive and harder to find. Would love to hear your thoughts/experience on your decision
Hello! thank you for watching my videos :) ... My main bike is the Kona Rove Ti.. i came from trek bikes(alloy frames to carbon). I cant be at peace with the carbon frame so i sold it and got me a Titanium bike. I ended up wanting a steel bike too so i get a surly. I choose the straggler because it was cheaper than the midnightS and also i want it as my bikepacking bike in the future. so i got the 650b to have a fattier tires.. i plan also to make the straggler as my commuter bike.
I don’t know why it’s not fully enclosed cable housing everywhere why have steel cable showing on a bike that’s used for dirt?. Don’t understand why they still do this.
