Poha is dry flattened rice, comes in three different types, thin/medium/thick. Thin and thick are for namkeen purpose, whereas medium one is use to make fresh poha. Upama- semolina fine or coarse, it is savour meal just like suji halwa. Idli- made out of fermented rice and urad daal(3:1) ratio. Soak both for a day with little bit meethi Dana, bring it in fine paste and leave overnight to ferment. Next morning add salt and use idli mold to make idli’s or you can make utapam as well- just need to buy mold.

Go to Noor’s Kitchen in Islamabad and you will get South Indian (Madrasi) breakfast items, like Idlis, dosas, vadas etc. I thought it was a popular joint, particularly amongst the celebrity crowd. The lady who runs it, her mother is from Madras, so it’s very authentic. Try it and spread the word if you like it.
Would recommend you to try South Indian restaurant in Dubai for Idli and Dosa.....Ching's noodles are good but you should definitely look for Maggi noodles as this is eaten all over in India........Infact you can make a complete video on trying Indian snacks and cold drinks
I am frm pakistan rwp, but i have tried upma in malaysia. Its a savoury dish taken as breakfast made of semolina, suji. And i have tried idly, that too is breakfast item, made of rice flour and steamed, eaten with picy dal and cocnut chuney, proper way to eat is with ur hands, smash idly ball with dal or chuney.
poha is flat rice mostly matches to our chewra they eat in breakfast upma is again some breakfast its suji with savoury touch in it idly is baked rice batter you can have it with chutney and rasam very good
