I’m never more relaxed than being on the river or on the bank. Biggest bass I ever caught was the backwater of the Ky River when I was a kid, a cane pole using red worms, traveled from home down Howard’s Creek to the river. Poverty was pure heaven lol, looking back and seeing today’s climate, it’s a true blessing, knowing how to skin a buck, groundhog and run a trot line. 😊

Carp aren't much good for anything, but folks I knew on the Mississippi would brine them and smoke them. Pretty damn good, just pick the meat off with your hands. Great video!!!

Buffalo are good eating. Cut out the ribs to fry then run the rest through a grinder a couple of times, season up, form into patties, lightly flour, then fry for some awesome fish patties or burgers.

At 66yrs, fishing all my life, for once I'd just like to see someone throwing a skunk out of the boat! Caught all kinda critters on a river. Would like to see it just once. Make that happen!
It's apparent to me on your second Trotline there that's broken it was probably running too high in the water column and somebody's boat went over it and cut it,, I know you're supposed to have your name and fishing license number attached to the trotline so it can be visible, and if your Trotline happens to damage somebody else's boat then that makes you liable,, sink your Trotline down to the bottom and don't pull them up tight
Yes we only get about 13mph going downstream. It's a 16' double hull with a 15hp. It moves us well for puttering from line to line but we're not getting up on a plane at all.

It looks like to me you're going to have to loosen up your Trotline and let it sink,, that's a boat prop accident waiting to happen with that Trotline Riding High in the water, put a couple more bricks on it and sink it
