We are a family of 6 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! We hope you enjoy seeing are crazy life, full of lots of laughs, great memories and maybe a few tears..

There is a major awakening when you realize that you “are the adults” lol. There is a sobering awakening when you lose your parents, and realize that you “are the mom” or that “you are the dad”. You realize that your children until the day God takes you home, are looking to you as you used to look to your parents. It’s very humbling.

Just remember Nana will come back. She needs to bring Grandpa with her. I am sure all the grandkids would love Grandpa being there and I am sure Garrett would love it if all his uncles and Grandpa were there so they can do “Big Boy” things.

Congrats to Harley and Mary!!! How exciting for both of you!!!! Uncle Bert and Aunt Jessica you are so wonderful - along with the kiddos!!! I am glad Emily and Rylan are doing well along with baby! Sad to see Nanna leave but I am sure she will be back up North soon. Goodness - so much happening! I get it! We have had a really rough year and you kind of just do it whether you feel like an adult or not. It always amazes me that somehow we find the strength to soldier on through what life throws at us. Many prayers for those that are going through health issues, never a good time. 4:12 Why not replace the carpets with laminated flooring? If the tenant wishes to buy a rug, (s)he can do so. But laminated flooring stains less than carpet, it's far easier to keep hygienically clean, and probably costs around the same.

That you just charged them for the stains is wonderful. In NJ, the law requires the landlord to replace the carpeting once every 5 years. But of course, most landlords count on renters NOT knowing that. They will charge for the replacement of the carpets, even if you've been there 15 years. It's frustrating. But then, of course, you guys are kind. :) Thank you for that.

Congratulations to your sister and her family! Babies are such a blessing. Becoming "the adult" was the singularly most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with .... because, in my case, it meant that my parents were gone... and i was now supposed to know everything about everything! HA! What a joke that is. You figure it out as you go along.. and you give yourself grace when you get it wrong. Praying for your family. And sending hugs.

I loved to hear Bert say that they were the adults now. I remember the realization, a few years ago at a family Christmas party, that my cousin and I were the old ones. Now that was a shock! 😊 Daylight Savings Time needs to go away. The older I get, the less I like it. As always, it was great to see what the Somers family is up to.
