The Columbia River offers some of the best fishing in the Country. Shad are plentiful and work great for halibut bait as evidenced by the last offshore Halibut trip. Many fish were caught i just a few short hours. Thank you for watching.

Ohhh, the stories I can tell you from that spot. Anywhere from 7-8ft sturgeon to some nice smallmouth, let alone the shad😁. Fish on👍

Went shad fishing on June 15th and i was amazed to see 3 sturgeons pop out the water for a glimpse (2 of them 7-8ft long and 1 baby sturgeon). Now that was a site to see for sure!

hooked a sturgeon on the oregon side today really close like that with a shad dart, broke me off but a fun 5 seconds 😂

Nice you got some shad Gene what do you do with them Years ago I used to do that and used them for crab bait it worked great

I plan on using them for Crab and Halibut bait. Hoping to send some big ones down about 600ft soon.

I was using an 8' 6" Okuma Celilo. 6-12lb Medium-Light. 10lb Hi Vis Berkeley Big Game main line with 10lb test Fluorocarbon leader.

What do one do with the shad? We used them for bait as a kid fishing catfish.
