People that don't like this new Linkin Park aren't giving the new songs a fair chance. Chester was one of the best hard rock voices of my life. Who are fans to judge what bands do when it comes to losing an original member to death. Could they have renamed and launched from scratch? Sure some do. Could they have just ended the band and given up on superstardom? Sure some have and released solo stuff never reaching the levels they enjoyed? Could they have done what they have done and replace the deceased member and others not interested in the rebooted line-up? Sure because why should the other members give up a huge platform and fan base they dedicated their lives to building. There is no right way or wrong way and those are all could questions and not should questions because those are personal decisions band members have to make and deserve the right to make for themselves. I have loved Linkin park from the day they dropped their first song and loved Chester as much as any fan which i can promise is way less than his band mates loved him. I get that for some fans there is no Linkin Park without Chester. Fine. Then don't listen, but just go away and shut up and let the rest of us Linkin Park fans enjoy the new stuff without you acting like we aren't true fans like you. So fuck the purity test of fandom. The first two songs are fire and the live stream showed me she has the chops for the old stuff without it feeling like a tribute band.
Well said...Linkin Park is a band not solo artist....so the rest of the band members deserve to move on...its been 7 years I believe....Linkin Park is a group of musicians making great songs...so here they are back ..I appreciate and happy for them...by the way RIP Chester...The new era of them is🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍👍🏼
I like Emily's voice, I think she fits in very well. They are not replacing Chester, nobody can do that, they added a singer and are moving forward. Emily wasn't brought in to be Chester , Emily was brought in to be Emily. She came from the band Dead Sara, her band since 2002. It does sound like Linkin Park, Mike said they had thought about a name change, but the songs sounded like Linkin Park songs to them. New drummer too, Colin Brittain, Rob had decided to step away. Mike ,Joe, Phoenix , and Brad are back. Brad is not playing live however, Alex Feder is filling in for the tour. This was the opening song in the 1 hour live stream concert they did. the rest of the set was older songs. They posted the entire live stream, and 5 songs have individual videos. She did sound off a bit during the show, but Mike said that she was getting emotional and starting to cry while singing. New album comes out Nov 15, called "From Zero". It's a double entendre with this being a new start and the original band name being Xero. 2nd song from the album is out now too. Check out the live video for "Heavy is the Crown" , posted on the LP channel, from one of the subsequent concerts on the tour.
Man Chris you really know alot about alot of music man. So glad you are here adding to the discussions. Can't wait to hear more from them. I thought Emily fit in perfectly.
@@chriso6719nice. I didn’t have as much time as most. I was trying to figure out how to teach over 150 band kids how to play online. At that time most of what I had done was in person. Luckily I had just started my channel the December before so I at least had some knowledge. The hardest part was figuring out how to have a concert online. Took many hours but I figured it out.
The band has suspended its activity for over 7 years which indicates how incredibly hard was it to move on. I also take it as a part of a healing process. We can't just curl up and grieve our entire lives, but healing and getting over the things also takes time. Plus, how to fill such a great gap after a legendary vocalist like Chester? The good thing is they didn't even consider anyone trying to copycat him by all means. Anyways, I'm so much grateful for having them back since I missed them a lot. I believe lots of us teared up finding out the band unanimously decided to take Emily in as a lead vocalist. Brilliant move. I'm also amazed with Emily's performance judging by her legacy as Dead Sara vocalist. She's got such a wide range and variety of singing techniques it makes me baffled. Not to mention, while on the scene live these guys act like bunch of 6 best buddies having a blast and enjoying themselves through the show they perform. They're all smiles, laughs and frolicking especially with Emily running and goofing around. It's pleasing just to watch them live. I'm so much grateful for having them back... also missed them a lot. Our lives change, the things change. We need to adapt, overcome the bad stuff and keep going with the good stuff!
They've only dropped 2 songs so far, and I'm all on board. Emily is amazing, the band sounds like Linkin Park in all ways... and I just can't wait for their new album on November 15th. They are BACK!!! Check out Heavy is the Crown.
I was a HUGE fan of Linkin Park back in the day. I was GUTTED when hearing of the passing of Chris Cornell, and then Chester... I will always be gutted for losing those talents. This addition AND knowing Linkin Park is trying to make their next chapter... Brings this nearly 50 YO dude, Joy. It's awesome.
Rarely listen to Linkin Park, but that's to be expected since I rarely listen to mainstream radio. I am familiar enough to recognize the guitar tones that I feel creates their own sound. I have zero knowledge of Emily, but I will also say she fits in well with the band, having that bit of gravel in her voice. Seems they have been around for quite a while, since like 1996? Glad you got the blocking situation figured out so we could get your reaction, thanks!!
Thanks Guy! Yeah I listened to them in the 90’s and then I played song of their stuff for my kids in the 2000’s. Just one of those groups you had to hear. At thr time they were new and interesting.
It says you are a music teacher SO, gonna ask way of topic for this video... My friends and i wanna play together live but we live in different countries.. we have tryed to use Discord but its SO bad.. Do you know of a better program we can use??
There is nothing that will allow you to completely play live together. There is a delay through the internet. What you would have to do is play to a click track or to a recording as the click track. This is how you would line up your parts in post editing. If you need more assistance I’d be glad to share more details. During covid I had to do this with my whole band. There are a few videos in my channel of groups I played I. Too that shows the finished product.
