Sorry for some audio issues with this one. I guess my external microphone wasn't plugged in all the way, so the wind was messing with the onboard mic. Onward and upward!

A quick tip that takes some discipline. If you miss a fish don't recast to the fish right away, even if the fish tastes steel wait a minute or two and cast again. If you miss a fish and then cast right back to them you are more likely to spook it. I have missed a fish, waited as little as 30 seconds, taken a deep breath recast to a fish and caught it. It know it was the same fish because I could see it. An old timer told me years ago that if you aren't relaxed your flies aren't relaxed. I used to think he was full of it and had inhaled too much bug dust, but it's true. If you miss a fish you tense up, if you get overly excited or frustrated you send that energy down your line. Anyway, another awesome video. I know it seems a little non traditional, but I will fish a dry dropper in some of these deeper ponds with my Tenkara rod, I have picked up some bigger spookier fish that way. Don't forget respect other fisherman, give them some space, pick up your trash and the trash of others, the fish Gods will reward you in kind.

I remember fishing beaver ponds in Wyoming in the early 1950's. One large beaver pond had some rainbows that had been chewed on. No one could figure out what would leave tooth marks on a 10 inch rainbow, until one of the guys hooked what looked like a 10 pound plus German brown trout, that broke his line.

My uncle used to take me way up into the mountains in Colorado as a kid. We would fish high mountain beaver ponds almost every trip. At the time, there was a request by the Colorado F&G to harvest every brookie you caught, to make more room for native cutthroats. So, we got to fly fish, hike, be in the high mountains, and also be harvesting a bunch of fish to the betterment of the fishery. It was win/win/win. This video brought back memories.

Just curious, if this is a stream that they are tying to restore the native cutthroats in, why were you not keeping the "invasive" species. In most streams out west that I have fished where they are trying to restore the native species, they want you to keep the invasive ones, ie... the brown trout and the brook trout. Brook trout are apparently good at out competing native cutthroats.

You shouldn't be throwing back Brook Trout in Cutthroat Trout areas too. Cutthroat trout numbers are suffering because of the introduced trout in the regions where they live. Inbreeding with rainbow trout is also important. If only Cutthroat Trout are in a stream you would have way more fish in general because they are better adapted except for the warmer water of beaver ponds where the invasive can give them a hard time.

I am a big fan of SUV RVing and after you mentioned you have a fishing channel, I decided to 'bite'...the scenery is great, but I found the content lacking in some details most fishermen want; such as what fly you are using, why you chose it, what size hook, what type of fly e.g. wet, dry, nymph or midge, etc. style of fishing such as twitch, free float, etc. These little details would add a lot to your narrative.
