The QANUN instrument is an IRANIAN instrument. It is a little different from the SANTOOR . In fact, QANUN is the santoor that part of it has been removed.

Though not identically same but we, Indians too have a similar instrument called, "Santoor". Santoor is native to the Kashmiri school of music. Pt. Shivprasad Sharma is a maestro of the same who featured in many of our childhood nostalgia, "Miley sur mera tumhara".
