The point of the Mosin is to be a cheap weapon that is incredibly reliable. Given how they are building the game it makes sense that the Mosin would be competitive against high kit players with decked out AR's. It also helps give new players or more casual players a chance when the regular players are late wipe and they are still low level.

MDR is fine. You just have to aim. High fire rate might kill faster on average, but think of the ammo costs! Edit: That player-scav was less of a rat and more of a possum. Imagine if they added a "feign death" option to this game (instead of just going prone).

So me and my brother got the game yesterday.... our first game: We spawn in on Customs. He asks what do we do now? We hear a "TING, TING".... Grenade explodes, dead after 20 seconds. What a game. xD My PMC had fractures everywhere.

if you set a 7.62x54r next to a 7.62x39 it's a big difference, if you've ever shot a mosin it's a very fun gun, and very accurate, but also very powerful. Love my mosin, still the biggest round in the game, still waiting on that PKM lol

You should've traded rig and 3rd class armor for AVS, unload stock M1 and put it into backpack and then grab any decent gun from these guys on the last scav raid on Reserve. Still, hell of fight there, well done!

It is weird that a lot of people dislike the MDR despite liking guns like the ADAR or the TX. It’s accurate on single fire and unlike the ADAR/TX it actually is full auto when you need it. Plus it’s cheap asf rn

They really need to find a way to elongate the low gear period of the wipe cycles.I mean I'm high-level this point and have fun in the game but pretty much everyone in this game agrees that it's way more fun in the beginning when fights last for 5 minutes because everybody has shit ammo. now not that long into the wipe go into interchange and see how long each fight that you get into lasts. Even if you win it's usually over in a split-second because everybody is using AP ammo. Still enjoying the game and this is my second wipe but I think it would be a lot more fun if BSG could somehow make the game still have good progression but not immediately jump to late game 2 weeks post wipe.

Tarkov is meant to be realistic and in real life level 4 armour plates can only take one 7.62x54r before it penetrates and even with level 4 it doesn't guarantee it will stop it so do people complaining about mosins want tarkov or call of duty that has some made up ballistics
