we have just purchased a 2021 surtees 700 game fisher (open cabin) and really looking forward to picking it up in a couple of days. hopefully its worth it!

Great video, I like your unbiased opinion on the different boats. I have a Surtees 650 2018 but bought new at the end of 2019. Great boat, looked at Bar Crusher, Extreme and Yellow Fin as well. Was sold on the Surtees on deck space, finish, ride, quality. Put a 200HP Yamaha on it due to using the boat for diving as well with all the weight that has (so quiet I sometimes forget to turn it off). Speced up with a lot of things, ie anchor winch (must have), macerating toilet, bought with two windscreen wipers and added a third one afterwards along the line of your spray mention (love them), trim tabs (thought i wasted my money with these but worth it), tank holders, rods holders. Later on added a Cel-fi mobile phone extender, was dubious it would work very well but is great. Added a fresh water bladder to rinse off after dives, love it. Put a beach recovery drop down spare wheel on the trailer, really good for beach launches so you don't get the car wet, snatch strap retrieval. Bought rock tamers for the car so the stones don't chip the boat paint. Added windscreen wiper sprayers, difficult to get right though. Added a few other things like a tow rope and bridle in case I come across another poor soul stuck out there. The flooding keel is excellent, i use it all the time doesn't matter what the is sea like, makes the ride so much better. Am think about the Helmstar auto helm as opposed to the Minkotta, but very expensive and the motor at the back will still be going and the risk of getting line caught. The Yamaha motor needs a better motor support for when trailering, I have nearly taken out the skeg a couple of times going into petrol station as it is so low. I use the boat mainly at the bottom of Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, the seas can get big there.

Of course Im in Florida USA, But never really could see much differences in all the cabin boats down yonder. A liitle difference here and there. Guess, you guys can tell. Its not like a Surtees versus the newest Stabicraft. But...I be learning.

I owned a NORTHBANK 600C powered by a 200 Suzuki and man that thing threw the water over like crazy, wet as hell . All boats will throw spray here in the West as the seas and wind are punishing.

Great video. So did Michael have one windscreen wiper on either side and an opening middle windscreen with no wiper? Is one wiper enough or is the port side wiper needed too? Any leaks with the opening middle window? Cheers
