The drivers that have the accidents appear to be going over the speed limit for a residential neighborhood. It also looks like poor signage and markings from the city, combined with roundabouts aren’t the norm in AZ🤷🏻♀️

Sorry but even without seeing signs, those cars were going way too fast, you don't come barreling down streets like that, and not being from that neighborhood etc is no excuse. You also shouldn't be driving if you can't see this big A round a bout with trees and concrete surrounding it. Slow the heck down and stop acting like you're Burt Reynolds, because you're no Burt Reynolds.
These ppl don't even live in that area that abuse this area. A speed bump would help, from all roads approaching that round about. The one located on 15th ave has speed bumps. Plus there's a golf course located in front of round about.
0:20 was going far too fast even after it hit the roundabout. The other vehicle that hit the fence was also. All-in-all they all appeared to be inattentive and driving too fast. It appears that the roundabout is there to slow drivers down but these were the ones that simply had a need for speed like the driver that drove so fast he split a LIGHT POLE in half. Keep that roundabout! The drivers that can't see it simply aren't watching the road. Notice after driving in the roundabout the vehicles didn't stop, showing the drivers didn't see wrong in what occurred.

The city should just clear the brush around the signs. And install more of these exactly like this throughout the city. It should help cut down on the aggressive driving I see out there.
They clearly NEED the fact to paint the road so that the intersection you are about to enter is an actual Roundabout! The center circle is missing any clear signage indicating the direction of movement the road suddenly becomes.
They should remove that poor excuse for a roundabout and replace it with a traffic light like at 23rd Avenue & Campbell. That intersection is more than busy enough for it with all the traffic going down Osborn to I-17.
@@danieldaniels7571 You must not be an AZ resident if you think any of those are even an option here. Summers are too hot to bike more than a mile, and it takes longer than driving. Our public transportation is abysmal. We do not have good infrastructure for EVs. If we had properly designed roads with roundabouts among other things they use in Europe, not to mention more competent drivers, we could be more efficient.

Really? I mean really? It's not the roundabout, but get the signs up if the community doesn't feel safe and problems happen! You can't fix dumb drivers/driving with signs or by making it easier to speed through your neighborhood.
It looks like they are speeding regardless so that's a problem but yeah they need more signs and what not to make it safer. Hope something gets done to help it.
That other roundabout isn't at 15th Avenue & Bethany Home. 15th Avenue & Bethany Home has a traffic light with left turn lanes. Please get your facts straight Channel 15.
So if I understand this right there's video footage showing the danger as well as signage that is covered up however they say they will not do anything about it unless the residents talk to them that is sad
If anyone talks about poor signage and it’s hard to see the roundabout until you’re on top of it that’s total bull… I’ve never had problems on streets especially when I know I shouldn’t be hauling down the road above the speed limit. Sorry but the problem isn’t the street on this one. It’s the majority of non-giving a heck drivers poor drivers who speed on every street and not give a heck about road signs.. lived here long enough to know that.. cmon it’s not the signs and roads it’s the majority of drivers who think it’s ok to drive the way they drive. I wonder how most of these people got their license. Especially the ones who don’t put blinkers on and or put it on when they are turning and not 100ft when it’s needed. Blame the drivers…
Obviously the city knows that there's a problem there so that's the city's fault that it hasn't been fixed. I don't see anything wrong with the intersection other than clearing up the brush by the signs. If anything it's doing a public service by helping rid the road of bad drivers. This should be implemented Valley wide.
Well like she said people can't see the run about till a driver gets near, signs should be posted, bushes , trees, should not be planted . It does block the visible, before approaching a street or road, neighborhood.
Oh, these things are nightmares We had a dozen of these things put in in Upstate New York supposedly for safety and they replaced intersections that had four-way stops and traffic lights Everyday there were hundreds of accidents and people would drive into the wall surrounding the roundabout because they had no idea it was there and we're expecting a Street road and would hit the wall head on at 70 miles an hour and we had deaths every single month and it still happening over 15 years since they were put in. If an intersection becomes too busy for a four-way stop then put in a traffic light or several and expand it to three lanes on all sides with slip stream lanes and left turn Lanes and no turn on red signs Never put it around about In theory it looks good in the simulations but in real life people don't behave like the simulation and the number of accidents increases exponentially
No, they’re safer in literally every country they’re used. “Hundreds” of accidents because people drove 70 mph into a wall is not a roundabout’s fault, boomer.

We have the problem in my city. They are erecting obstacles in the roadway. People are getting hit and cars are having accidents in numbers that were not there before.everywhere pop ups pedestrian crossings you name it. So many you cant drive safely.
Doesn't anyone on that street own a pair of snips or a limb cutter?! I cannot count how many summers my dad and I cut back Mr. Potter's hedges so people could see the stop sign.
The approach islands appear to be mostly paint. Normal modern roundabouts have raised concrete islands to guide drivers around the circle. Of course, no amount of island or sign would prevent the few drivers documented going so fast on a residential roadway. Traffic engineers will never run out of work because...idiots in cars.
Build a 3 foot wall around it and some signage. Guarantee they won’t be driving through it any longer? But on a more concerning note, the city really doesn’t care, if they did there would be identical signage at all roundabouts. SMH!
They need to put flashing lights If I were one of the home owners who lives there I would buy the red and white diagonal highly reflective stick on tape and wrap it all the way around the curb in the middle of the circle so that as they were approaching it at night at least they'd be able to see it in the headlights and maybe avoid driving over it
Don't get rid of the roundabout! It's a speed control device, and a better one than speed bumps. We need more of these in Arizona and less intersections! Just imorove the signage surrounding the roundabout. I don't want my taxes wasted on people that aren't capable of controlling their speed and watching for changes in the road!
Remove that giant chunk of landscaping growing right in the middle of the intersection and people won't be crashing their cars in an attempt to avoid the obstacle.
Maybe take the round a bout out and put up a set of lights or maybe just a six foot cement wall after hitting that you won’t need to drive anymore!!!!!

Roundabouts are obsolete and dangerous. That's what speed bumps are for. Roundabouts cause harm to others around. Speed bumps just mess up your own car.
How about a good old fashioned 4-way stop!? If need be, how about a traffic light? Those cars that crashed all seemed to be going rather fast! How about speed bumps or speed cameras!? Roundabouts defy common sense, IMO. Their intent is to slow traffic down but they seem, instead, to just be jump ramps.
