Labour are pushing us towards 1984 style monitoring. I went into a local Boots branch the other day and they now only accept card payments - no cash payments. Government and Banks are contriving to abolish cash so that every single transaction made by ordinary people can be monitored. If you spend more than you can prove you earned no doubt you will get a demand from the Inland Revenue for proof of where the money came from. Kids will not be able to have spending money without it being on a debit card. Big Brother is coming fast and hard.

Not that I’m a Tory fan but, this was their bill, not labours. Now, it’s just another proof that labour are not for “less governance” which is what people want but instead in favour of further over policing and the removal of rights, like the right to privacy, which this bill very clearly breaches. Don't kid yourselves. They know exactly what people have in their bank accounts. I've just had a tax bill for tax that was not taken for interest earned on my savings account. My God, it's £20 the government is obviously short of. And now they are talking to tax ISA's, too. Best not to have a bank account at all, other than a current one for wages and direct debits etc.

Pubs close earlier and no smoking in pub outside spaces will lose revenue from alcohol and cigarettes. Yes they can drink and smoke at home but that is likely to be less than if in a pub as some people drink more when in company if friends than when at home with family or alone. Its not just people on banefits that are checking on, but people on state pension too!! The Conservatives brought this in, but never got chance to actually use it. The number of benefit claimants who make good money by buying and selling online is huge… Many use PayPal and other electronic payment methods, often using multiple online profiles to hide the fact that they are in fact illegal traders, who pay no tax, no national insurance, and defraud the taxpayer out of tens of thousands of pounds every year..
