I used to play Surviv.io a lot, but in recent years I lost interest in battle royales and surviv's player count started to decrease, while zombsroyale (which blatantly copied surviv and mixed it with Fortnite, even the developers admitted it) stole all the players. Now Surviv don't have enough players, so at off-peak times there can be just 10-20 players per match and players are locked to only solos and the current event gamemode in an attempt to increase the number of players per match. Just like Zombsroyale, Battledudes is inspired by Surviv, but takes the game in a new direction rather than just copying it. The art style definitely resembles surviv more than zombsroyale, and despite not being a battle royale I consider it to be somewhat of a spiritual successor. It's a pretty good game with a lot of potential if they get the balancing right, and as a Planetside 2 fan I like the idea of combined arms games. Now they just need to make the maps bigger and increase the max player count... My only complaints are the rocket launcher is OP and the end of round advertisement sometimes glitches out and freezes, forcing you to reload the page. I'm also not too keen on the battle pass system which I think is overused, although it's better than lootboxes. Allowing the player to get most weapons just by leveling up and restricting both in game currencies (even the free one) to cosmetics is definitely a good idea. I also notice they used the TF2 model for Capture the Flag, which is a bad idea. There is a reason why CTF is a big joke in TF2. A better way to do CTF would be that your own flag gets returned if you touch it, rather than having a cooldown on returns. That way people can't just do suicide runs to move the flag a few pixels closer to the capture point.
