Sounds like an exciting adventure ahead of you, looking forward to it. Tipp: not all items need to be protected, so, why not pack only the delicate items into the dry bag and all together in a larger ruck? I personally often use the HD-PE/PET-bags you get from the butcher with vacuum-sealed meat to create customized sealed or roll-top bags with my own sealer to keep everything dry that needs to be. I seal them in portions - if one gets punctured, I'm still left with some intact ones. I like to cut the bags twice as long as needed and seal them at the very end - if I have to open it, I cut off only the seal and can still use it as a waterproof roll-top bag. The butcher's bags are laminated from 4-5 layers of different plastic materials that make them highly puncture-resistant - never had an issue with them. PE and PET are environmentally friendly, in the campfire they burn clean to H2O and CO2 without any harmful fumes.
Friend is bringing Mtn House meals.... don't forget a long handle spoon to eat with, unless you are sure that he is going to provide. Nothing worse than having a freeze dried meal and nothing to eat it with.
Carry both bags man! Just in case, what if the dry bag breaks or something. Your probably back now 😂 Got a wazoo belt for the first time before blade show, definitely a great belt and idea
Absolutely fantastic. Im already packed and ready to go. I used to do these trips alot, just say when and where. (Hint hint). Have a safe, fun trip. And remember safety 3rd. Thanks again for all the hard work you put in for us.
As a man that has canoed/kayaked many, many miles of deep south rivers/creeks, I would add bug net, bug juice, and a good saw...lol I can't tell you how many times I've sawed through deadfalls enough to get my watercraft through....but you look like you have the "needs" covered...
This should be quite an interesting adventure, and I look forward to following it! Personally, I would have included a smallish Swiss Army knife such as a Victorinox Camper. Stay safe!
Have you heard about or tried the H2go water purifier? It uses table salt to make a chlorine solution used to purify up to 5 gallons at a time, but the unit is 2 inches by 3 inches.
It would've been nice if you'd had a bit of a bigger dry bag so you could've brought along your puffy jacket for extra warmth . Safe journeys and farewell on your adventure Mr. Salyer and Friend ! ! !
I'm not a fan of water trips but, I've been on equine mounted, mules are better than horses, ATV and 4x4 overland trips. I've kayaked and went canoeing but never with anything more than fishing tackle. I'd be afraid of losing my essential gear to the water.
Perhaps make a paracord sternum strap if end up doing more walking than floating down the creek? Also, seen Dustin use the forward strap of his belt for spare cordage.
Are those belts actually comfortable with all that stuff in it and when its loaded can you still use an inside the waistband ccw holster? I subscribed and liked cause this seems like a really interesting journey and I cant find enough channels that have this type of content. Sadly with my stomach issues I am extremely limited on what I can get out and do in the outdoors so I really enjoy getting to experience it second hand.
They sure are. The owner of Wazoo put a lot of thought into it including comfort. Thanks for subscribing. Look into some high quality probiotics for your gut issues
Why not just use the drybag as a bag liner? That way you can carry something comfortable and still have it waterproofed for the trip? Youd lose some versitatility if youre a fan of pockets but🤷♂️
Your home looks really sweet. Without meaning to be rude do you also work alongside your RU-vid? I always wonder how people attain the quality of life that they have. I’ve always worked hard but always been broke. Messed around until my mid 30’s and have a great job now but have 2 handicapped kids and my other half looks after them
He brings in them residual chex from the male modeling gig.. if I was that purty I would too.. mailbox money is the way to go.. on three.. ready.. BREAK !!!
I have done a lot of things for work. Saved up a ton of money coaching in California. Now I have a handyman, property management business alongside my RU-vid work.
I've seen those belts on line. Higher than a giraffes azz too for what they are. The fire tabs, 1 tub of Vaseline and a bag of cotton balls cost a 3rd as much and burn better. Try them. $8 and you have fire starter for decades.
