I really wish US-made nature documentaries of the last 20 years wouldn't have adopted all the emotionally manipulate, adrenaline-inducing soundtracks. Nature is interesting enough and this obsequious music lowers the enjoyment for many.
@michaelmiranda178
@michaelmiranda178 2 года назад
It increases the enjoyment for most. Some of us have brains that regulate emotions differently. If we dont learn this- we tend to overreact to things as innocuous as nature documentary soundtracks. And then project our inability to regulate ourselves onto an entire society… often missing that the reason these standards and practices exist is because its been shown to be popular within our culture. Adding emotional connection is a good move creatively. Its not their fault that some of us are unaware of our condition.

Well, they aren't exactly weird creatures, but the video is a pleasantly-narrated interesting concept that these creatures somehow got together and figured out ways to survive deadly scenarios. In truth, the video is a study of animal instinct, which is always interesting. No one knows where instinct comes from, except to slowly evolve over millions of years. And that's interesting, because how is half-evolved instinct "fit" enough to survive, unless it occurs spontaneously? Same with half-evolved reproductive organs. But now theory has become fact, and that is what is weird.

Any one else want to help the baby sea turtles make it to the ocean? They are cute and I feel sad to see so many die just trying to get into the water. Would protecting a section of beach during hatching time from other predators be a bad idea? If so why?
@boushraadam343
@boushraadam343 2 года назад
as helpful as it seems mingling with nature and natural occurences in nature such as the baby turtles being eaten is actually harmful as it can disrupt the cycle. For example if you were to help the baby turtles get to the sea then those birds and crabs are going to go hungry as they rely on the turtles for food. Then if they die the animals that eat the birds and crabs will go hungry and so on. So its better to just leave things be, nature has survived wayy longer than us humans so theres no need for us to interfere.

I disagree. I am not a fan of the tone of this documentary at all. The voiceover script is, for the most part, okay - but it covers some of the most basic and familiar subject matter for nature documentaries. There's scant little that stands out as unexpected information. What I really don't like in this documentary, however, is the excessively dramatic and energetic music. It is just inappropriate for the natural world in general.
