I think they cannot see you with that bug, it's only visible to you and the spectators. But i'm not 100% sure.

@@NickNastyNation I remember we had that bug long ago. You get highlighted, but the family cannot see that. So if it is the same resurrected bug, they cannot see you.

Family can definitely see you when you're highlighted. I was playing sissy on abandoned mill and I saw sonny highlighted for a few minutes till it disappeared
