I have spent the last three days just watching everybody play this game. It so entertaining. Love it.

This was such a fantastic start. This does feel like one of those games where you can improve your situation massively just by looting enough (I bet you could probably have a very successful run without having to progress through the tech tree at all).

Interesting restart, totally made sense. One suggestion I have is that you should probably go through the tech tree and open up what you can and see what you need to keep an eye out for when looting. Example you knew you had to build the bench but went out looking without knowing what you need. Better to have clear looting goals in the beginning since horde night is coming and without working doors on POI’s can’t wait to see how creative you get to solve the problem. Again resist the urge to toss. Respawns are 10 days a away no need yo decide now.

Also for hoards, make a platform, second floor you can stand on, then build spikes all around. You can leave one with 5 logs in to get in and out, and place the last log when you are in. Hoards start at 1900 on the day.

At the start, prioritise backpack, water, cooking pot, spare parts , 1 tool box for bench. Then level 1 books. Food is easy enough to find, mushrooms are good for carbs and you can hunt. Craft spears and a bow, damage depends on strength so keep well rested. The next bow is alot better. Arrows are cheap and making them upgrades mech skill. Even if it takes 6 arrows to kill a zombie, its silent and stops you getting hurt. Set up somewhere near clay, then work on the tech tree. Try and get all the metal ones as they unlock crafting for weapons and bottle and cooking pot.

Collect any aluminium from cars, they don't take much space and you can make the water bottles later. You need 37, 1 for unlock tech and its good to make 3 as they hold 5 water but you can only boil 3 at a time. Water is the biggest problem imo

I also recommend fixing up one of those king cab izuzu/toyota looking trucks when you do get a vehicle as i know you like to stack supplies and they allow you to use the back bed of the truck like a back pack

This is a compliment,I see parts of 7DTD,DayZ,Days Gone, Resident Evil,I could go on,all these ideas combined are familiar,but made a new by a recombination,if there's good support from the Devs,this could be the real The Day Before! Kutgw!

lot of people craft wooden spears to start out for weapons as they help you keep good distance from the zomies and are super cheap to make. I have been watching people play and one of the most effective ways i saw someone beat the hoard night was make a 2 square foundation and floor and surround it with 2 layers of spikes on each side so 8 in all. Most of the zombies threw themselves on the spikes and it made the fight much easier...This is assiming of course you havent built a shelter. Once you visit the trader and are able to trade for 2 car repair kits and fix a car...the gas can be found around the map in smaller amounts....but the gas station is at the top of the map pretty much right in the middle near the indentation somewhere near that little brown cluster ...you will find 4 larger containers of gas with ten units in each i think as well as water in the store...you will find alot of guns that you already have but dont disregard them..Just a handgun holds a value of 30 with the trader so stock pile whatever you can from what i have seen guns ammo and books are worth the most....This game is like the mist in a lot of ways its basically what the mist should have been. i You can also take things and hide them in places they didnt come from. so if you need to you can hide stuff in the trunk of a car untill you come back for it....it you throw something on the ground it will eventually disappear but it takes a whlle

Definitely interesting game there's so much loot to be a survival game, u might can take advantage of the houses nearby and store stuff in them since it doesn't despawn unless its on the ground that'll save u from having to build so much storage like icarus and other games. Especially uncooked food

Ok, you got down a foundation and some storage.😀 Now put up ur walls before you get distracted with other things, that way you can hide in ur base when zeds get close and pick them off from a distance.😊 It seems this game has a learning curve. Be very, very careful of those trees chopping them down.😨😱 Good vid.😊👍🏾

you can make a log stand and a stick stand like in the infected its in the out door section on the list, there is also a crate shelf like in the infected it looks just like it

GREAT restart GE!!!!! If you want a vehicle, go to the trader and swap goods for a repair kit or two (red means you need to trade more and blue means you overpaid). Then go to the airfield entrance and there should be a truck there. (NO GUNS!!!! The airfield is LOADED with zombies). Make sur you have 1 or 2 small gas containers (Find or trade for them), they should get you to the gas station. Go left and left again. Yeah.....the back end is where things happen with vehicles.

Don't toss your honeycomb, harvest with knife, get honey. Also alcohol cigarettes and magazines will be very important when you start leveling skills. I also noticed that when tje plants start to have a glow to them the gamw is about ready to screw you and crash so make sure and restart if you se this. Good luck have fun.

Finally made it to winter last night and was blown away by how good it was. There was snow one day leading up to a blizzard and you leave a path in the snow. Have to say I'm very impressed considering it's really early alpha.

I'm loving this game!

car repair kit is found at a trader that is on the next landmass to the left of your start area. located middle of the area to the left of the airfield. try to save the wine and cigs. when you find skill books, you have to read each multiple times till it tells you you've learned it. each read decreases the mentality bar. smoke a cig, drink wine, and or read a magazine to get your mental score back up. save extra guns for using at a trader. can use them as barter or give them to the trader for rep points. trade rep points for the trader to train you in a skill. extra ammo is a good trade item, then later you can go trade back for it . you can start a build on the workbench- if you stay with the build, you get skill points. if you leave and just let it work, you wont. trick i learned, is that on long crafts- start them, then leave and do something else. just be back in time for it to finish. you get points when it finishes

The backpack you selected from the car trunk is the largest in the game but you left the military backpack on the ground (it will now despawn) instead of putting it back in the car trunk where you might need it later on.

If you are crafting something at the bench you have to stay inside the bench when crafting to get the experience points. If you walk away like you did with that board it will make it but you wont get the experience points...I hope the dev changes that...also if you make a mistake and have to dismantle they do give you everything back...its very forgoving that way....

That car had durability! It didn't need to be fixed, it was just out of fuel.

There is a storage chest shelving unit you can build to stack chests. I can't believe all the guns you found. Talk about streamers luck! lol By the way, Guns will bring you a lot of money at the traders. Good place to find car repair kits. (Hint Hint) There's also a truck you can repair.

Glad that things got figured out, not the most intuitive system, perhaps they need more descriptive texts or perhaps they plan on making it part of the tasks for the story line

Smoking cars are the ones you can fix and it's not with a tool box its a vehicle repair kit

To rotate stuff in your inventory hit R, when you learn skills you can read the books the magazine to regain your mentality, nearby zombies will hear the gunfire and come running, they also hear cars when you drive it

Not very survival oriented but An idea if it can help: Try to screenshot the Map and mark up places you left things you might need later (And also what's inside). So you don't forget where is what when you need it 💪🏾

Apart from the glitchy trees, this is already looking better than The Infected.

I what i saw in other gameplay you cant equip or pickup diferent backpack, you need to drop previous one first and the larger speed debuff the biger inventor space it has

I always take +20 load, and try to get the stamina up and speed if possible.

the barn sometimes has iron tools and the top nutton on the fire is start cooking (the Chinese writing button) and rabbits give like 3 meat when you kill them

You cant stack chests one on another.. you need for that shelfs.. i think its engineering 1 and need plank to research. Also you CANT move chests once they are builded.. so choose place wisely :D

You can fit the other backpack into the one you wear, once your primary one is full, is it possible to change another backpack?
