Roger La Asunción is the capital of Margarita and it is not a part of Porlamar is a different city.

Is the ferry the only way to get to the island or can you get there by plane? What is the route to take to get to magarita when coming from another country?

You can go by plane as well. I know you can travel from Caraca to Margarita by plane

The capital of Nueva Esparta is La Asunción, not Porlamar.
