We have to be extra careful when we take pictures with people dress in mascot costumes. Its sneaky how they ask you for money afterwards and not before.

Atleast you could eat, you had four train rides, you had a room to sleep in and you could do an activity with your $100, but here in South-Africa where I live is R100 nothing, you would buy yourself a cheap meal and your money will almost be done😢😂

Manhattan is expensive but other places in New York aren’t. I live in the Bronx which is about forty five minutes away from Manhattan by train. It has more reasonable prices than Manhattan. Also, you need to be really careful walking around in Manhattan because I heard those characters also steal things. Just really be aware of your surroundings and you’ll be fine.

the same thing happened to me when my family was in ny. i was minding my own business and suddenly the characters came up from behind me and told my mom to take a picture. this was the first time we had been in ny so we didn’t know it was a scam until they made my mom pay $10 per person (there were 6 of them). i was so mad and it just made me hate nyc so much
