Meet Lori who experienced her first menopause symptoms after being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing her initial chemo treatment.
As a realtor, she kept her cancer treatment private from clients. One day, while showing a property, a sudden hot flash caught her off guard, leading her to shed layers of clothing while keeping her toque on to conceal her bald head. Her menopause symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, and irritability, proved to be the most troublesome.
Due to the lack of menopause support and discussion from her doctor, Lori sought answers online. Self-education proved invaluable in navigating this challenging period in her life. She often struggled to differentiate between cancer and menopause symptoms while managing both simultaneously.
Lori strongly advises prioritizing self-care, trying new approaches, and embracing calmer moments. Through meditation and lifestyle changes like avoiding alcohol and coffee, regular exercise, and nightly meditation, she regained a sense of empowerment and fulfillment, creating the life she had always envisioned.
➡️ Hot Flashes & Night Sweats
Hot flashes or flushes and night sweats are common symptoms of menopause. They are characterized by excess sweating, redness of the face and chest, rapid heart rate and sensations of heat and chills that can be quite disruptive both day and night. ➡️ Brain Fog & Cognitive Changes
You may feel that you are ‘losing your marbles’ or fear that you have early onset dementia, but most symptoms of menopausal transition start with changes in your brain chemistry, so it isn’t your fault. You are also not alone, about half the women in menopausal transition will experience temporary changes in their cognition. Thankfully, these changes are usually temporary in nature and will settle down once you are past your early post-menopause years.

➡️ ➡️ Menopausal Hormone Therapy
Hormones are chemical messengers in the bloodstream that regulate many critical body functions such as temperature, digestion, sexuality, reproduction, and bone generation.
Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) has been scientifically-proven to decrease the intensity of several of the many women’s menopausal transition symptoms, specifically hot flashes and night sweats, bone loss and vaginal dryness. It has also been proven to reduce future health complications related to hormonal change such as dementia, heart attack and stroke, osteoporosis and vaginal atrophy.
