I literally LOLd when I saw the fight scene! Total deja vu 😂 We just had our miracle baby 2 months ago and it's been an adjustment. The beginning was SUPER hard and we were continuously bumping heads. We've gotten to a place of good communication and putting each other first which has helped tremendously. Great video!

what a beautiful and informative video. my husband and I are 7 years into this parenting gig and I promise- the first year was the hardest! it didn't help that I had a huge mental health struggle (suffered from postpartum psychosis) and I just wasn't myself. we found our balance probably 18-24months into parenting and now we build on that every day. upwards and onwards :)

In my experience Having a child after only 4 months of dating has been really hard. Having a baby doesn’t make a relationship any easier or more fun, at least so far… plus the experience of dating and naturally discovering if the person you’re with is right for life is hindered and becomes a feeling of obligation to stay together for the child. This of course is my experience, not projecting that this is how it is for everyone.

I was with my husband (still am) but we were together for 7 years before we had our son who just turned 1 a few weeks ago and let me tell you it was like meeting a whole new shitty person! My god I absolutely hated him. I felt like his life didn't change at all when he became a parent but I was in the trenches. He was sleeping all night and I wasn't sleeping for months on end, surviving on 3 broken hours a night for months at a time. Then he'd come home from work and say "I'm tired" 😳 I could have vomited I was utterly disgusted. At 5 months I left him for a couple months and I realised how much I actually did on my own. Eventually we decided to get back together and when I laid it all out and told him exactly what I needed him to do to help me each day (apparently initiative isn't his strong point) things got alot better between us. Still navigating new parenthood obviously but I think we'll be okay.. I hope.. and I think you will be too 🙏❤️

Going through this myself we were together 6months in a unstable relationship before she got pregnant. I feel like we haven’t really ever got the chance to just date each other smh

No one is obligated to stay with each other for life even with a child. However it would be great if its work out for both of you to just je simply there for the sake of your child till it reach adulthood. Love is a process. The butterflies will vanish after 6 months of dating, doesn't matter who you date next. Its very hard after 4 month.. both partners are exhausted and tired the time to get to know each other is often dismissed due to the fact there is a baby. Sorry to hear this. Constructive communication is the only way to make things a little better for both of you. Appreciate the little things she does for you and if shes not a shitty person she will realise a men needs appreciation for what he does too

You're an amazing woman, Kristy! I love seeing you wade these waters of motherhood and marriage and life...and being vulnerable about it to help others. While I'm not a wife or mother, your videos help me look at others with more compassion. And just seeing you and Miles and Andrew brings me joy. (Don't cut his hair!) Love ya.

I wanted to tell you that it's so very tough when I saw your journey to motherhood but it's something that you have to experience yourself because you never know how you and your S.O will react to parenthood. My ex and I literally have had that fight and the fact I miss working so much. As a single mom now I see the help my ex was and I can also see how much I did on my own because most men tend to think working one job is the only thing they need to do in a family not knowing staying home with the kids is a job you can't clock out from or have vacations from. I appreciate you expressing the hardships.

Thank you so much for sharing. So true. And It's hard to say "imiss working" because somehow that might mean we don't also love being a mom.

Miles is such a cute baby! This video was really informative and I leant so much. It’s funny how people feel they’re good at communicating their feelings until it comes to having tough or close to the heart conversations.

SO TRUE!! Feelings are hard because they are so vulnerable and we don't learn this stuff in school.

Thank you for addressing this topic. I feel none of my friends with kids ever bring this up I almost thought we were the only ones that were struggling. We are doing much better now. The big adjustment is coming when I go back to work in a couple days.

People need to be more informed on the realities of parenthood, so they make an informed choice. Yes 'choice'. Don't let society pressure you thinking it's obligatory.

Having a baby is the worst struggle that two people can put on themselves. It's pure suffering until the parents start to wire their brain to understand that they LOST EVERYTHING they had before. You have to rebuild your whole personality to care for a child. I hate that experience and you can't do it until you start to lie to yourself everyday, that it was a good idea in the first place, because it wasn't.

Idk if I can agree with this 100%. My baby was definitely the best idea. Regardless of the struggle.

I’m surprised more people haven’t replied to this. How are things now? I hope they’ve gotten better and you’ve realized that this isn’t the “norm” and that things can get better. Having children isn’t for everyone but it certainly isn’t a bad idea for everyone either.
