On today’s episode of Thriver Talks, I got to speak with by Erin Ripplinger (IG:@rippzie) from Utah who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer (HER2+) in 1999. At the time, she had an 18-month old baby girl and underwent treatments while pregnant with her son. Fast forward to today, she is an energetic Zumba Instructor, a Flight attendant and is still cancer-free 21 years later. How did she do it? Did her son survive? I met a an old lady at a restaurant near my home and we started chatting it up. She told me she had breast cancer 40 years ago. I asked her what she did. She said she had it cut out then she bought a vita mix and made all kind of smoothies. She also said she makes her own avocado ice cream and eats it every night before bed. Nice old lady. I see her around town all the time.

Thank you I finish chemo October and radiation also stage 3 estrogen positive and I will be continuing my zoladex and anastrozole to keep cancer away side effects awful early menopause and many more but better live with side effects and be healthy. Wish you the best🥰

Oh wow! This made me cry! I’m 36 and had stage 3 Her2 breast cancer in June 2018 with spread to collarbone node Just diagnosed in December 2019 with lung Mets. Started taxol / herceptin and perjeta in December too. Being diagnosed stage 4 was a massive blow but reading your story fills me with hope xx

Thank you for this story. It is so encouraging. I'm stage 3c and have just read about Shannen Doherty's cancer coming back. I was feeling really down and then your video comes up and I'm feeling really positive again. ❤

Stage IIIC too here. This "IIIC" club is scary. To tell the truth, Sometimes I feel like already stage IV because I had a recurrence after my recurrence.

@@normezmoi I knew a lot women who survive stage 3 years and they healthy so we have to be positive and I promise myself no more reading negative comments its not help I like read positive stories and its help for mental health and be positive.

I was diagnosed 20 years ago, not stage 4, but now am stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that has spread to my stomach and intestines, took my kidney and now in my bones. I was told with my initial diagnosis that I could have five years. Things were so different twenty years ago. I am amazed at hearing that there is someone else out there still here after 20 years! I plan on being here another 20 years with or without cancer!

Ms Ripplinger is way stronger than me. She has so much life in her! I'm so tired that even thinking about another 20 years just makes me want another nap. I'm stage 4. How does she do stage 4 with so much energy?!? It could be my Vitamin D is low, been taking supplements recommended by one of the doctors. It could also be that my bc spread to my lungs, so there's less oxygen or something like that. Anyway, I don't feel sick, just super tired.

I'm on my bf account..but I was diagnosed with stage 4 her 2 negative breast cancer. I'm 34 and was diagnosed at 30 and have yet to treat it because I am so unsure of chemo . I'm trying to fight it naturally. maybe it's stupid but so many ppl I know who have done chemo has had it come back :*(

No but I am going to be seeing my oncologist next week. They gave me 3 yrs ...I'm at 5 so far and no chemo....I'm hoping I can fight this without needing it....

I am so grateful that in spite of "you're so young" myPCM and care team treat every lump guilty until proven innocent. Too many wen and men who catch early on their own get left in the dust until it gets to stage 3-4. I really hope PCMs are held liable for not following up with lumps.
