Instead of removing your leafy ground cover, i would rake more leafy matter for insulation under my ground pad. Makes a lot of difference.

Take care up in the hills and make sure you check in regularly with someone sensible just in case things get tricky. Temps are dropping up here in the North and snow is forecast for next week. We had a little flurry earlier but was very weak and nothing really. The deer didn't really know what to do did it? Obviously no amount of hunting pressure in that woodland. Even when it left it just trotted off. Not the sharpest animal but a nice encounter with wildlife. I've seen foxes on the streets here. We have a bit of green belt around the town and I guess there is more food in town. Lookibg forward to your next adventure!

I've got several of their products (not this one), never used, just squirreled away in a day pack. I used to carry them when I was doing ecological monitoring--- just in case something happened.
