Unfortunately, my granddaughter had a very difficult and traumatic event at this Hotel (with excessive dark “bureaucracy”). A beautiful bedroom with a copper bath was discovered on the fourth floor of this Hotel. The bathroom had a terrible smell of human waste and upon complaining the woman told us that the Fosse septic tank was completely blocked. The woman who sold us the room told us that the Hotel had completely emptied the septic tank a year before, which turned out to be false! At the official reception point we discovered that the septic tank had not been emptied since 1987 and this is the reason for the drain to be disgusting in the bathroom.
We love going to the grand. We just got back from there our 5th time Up to now. People don’t realise it’s a 157 years old and near the sea. Don’t aways clean when we go. Don’t listen to the bad reviews.
I have heard of this hotel before. A very entertaining video! Did you have breakfast and if so what was it like? I look forward to watching your next video 👍
I tried a small fry-up with those beans 😆💯 It was ok, just an average breakfast I guess! The area is laden with breakfast cafes, fish and chip shops and the like, so I kinda thought there' no chance of eating healthy. So... when in Rome! 😁 But for slightly cheaper, you can sit by the sea and defend your food against the hungry seagulls, so that seemed a bit more interesting for the other days!
I would have demanded a new room on a higher floor, I presume you didn't ask for the basement? I have seen some positive reviews recently and I think its pretty much potluck as to whether you get a decent room or a horrible one.
Most folks do that, but there is a sharp upcharge for a room out of the basement, it's around twice the price. Then you are dealing with the gulls The default room is the basement with no WIFI and no cell service.
