Join me on an eye-opening walking tour as Typhoon Carina (international name Gaemi) unleashes heavy rainfall over Metro Manila, leading to severe flooding in numerous areas. With the city of Manila now in a state of calamity, we'll navigate the inundated Bayanihan Street in Maricaban, Pasay City, where the Maricaban Creek has overflowed due to clogged canals and drainage systems.
But amidst the chaos, the indomitable Filipino spirit shines through. Witness the incredible resilience of local residents as they adapt to their new watery reality. From makeshift solutions to unexpected moments of joy, you'll see how the community comes together, even finding moments of fun-watch as the young ones swim and play in the flooded streets.
Come along as I wade through the floodwaters to bring you a firsthand look at life during Typhoon Carina. See how these amazing people cope, survive, and even thrive in the face of natural disaster. Don't miss this unique and inspiring journey! #TyphoonCarina #FloodTour #FilipinoResilience #ManilaFloods

I don't know how people walk in the water and not get sick? Pilipino must have a strong immune system
@wandernonoy

Yeah. I definitely agree with you. When a person lives in a dirty environment, their immune system tend to adapt to that certain environment. Their bodies evolve to be able to fight those viruses and bacteria.

Thank you very much for watching and subscribing to my channel. Floodings are a common sight in some parts of Metro Manila here in the Philippines. Especially, during typhoon followed with a heavy rainfall. People just get use to it. And the flooded streets becomes a children swimming playground.

When there is no more rain, how long before all the street water subside? That is, when your feet don't get wet anymore walking on the street. I'm curious where all the water goes.
@wandernonoy

This place is near to the creek, probably 2 to 5 hours before the flood water will subside. But those areas that are near the coast, took days before the water subsides. The floodwaters will flow to the creek as seen in the last part of the video. Then the water in the creek will lead to the sea.

I was there from the 4th to 26th. Not in Manila but way south near Davao City. Our flight was canceled because of that typhoon. We finally about to make it to/out of Manila on the 26th or 27th

Good to know you're OK. They usually canceled the flights when there's a typhoon here in the Philippines. Some streets in Manila are flooded 😅

People just kept dumping their trash in bodies of water, poor urban planning, overcrowded in cities and lack government support. Don't worry they are used to it already. 😅

Yes that’s very true, strong immune system. On the average, 21 typhoons cross the Philippines every year. Flooding is common occurrence. If the people you see should get sick, they would have died several times over by now.

Where's that at
@wandernonoy
@wandernonoy 2 месяца назад
The exact address is Bayanihan Street, Maricaban, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It's more or less 100 meters away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Living beside a creek becomes nightmare during Typhoons. Trash clog the waterways thereby causing this flood.

Overtime we develop more resistance to any diseases cause by sewage water. Thats how life goes in flooded prone areas. People have no choice but to adapt. And damn I'm still alive after walking in that dirty water. 😅 It's more fun in the Philippines. 😁
