For all those who didnt watch till the end, but are curious where this weeks Create video is, it is in the works! The current Create builds are much more complex so the episodes are requiring a LOT more time to set up, so we are settling into a 2:1 ratio with Mekanism videos so I have sufficient time to plan and gather stuff for them :) This means next video will be a Create one!
Rage: you dont want to build the biggest size because of all the steel you need! Me, who automated steel production, then left minecraft open overnight: *i have no such weakness*
@@champiggy-sama564 what the hell!? You can automate every ore in the game vanilla or not, with this in mind you can technically never run out of fissile fuel
@@ismahelo the digital miner can mine around 2k iron each time, but even without mods, in vanilla you can make a iron farm with villagers, have a ton of these on youtube, and they produce nonstop.
Hands down the best channel for all things Mekanism. You have a real talent for explaining everything in detail, yet adding nothing thats unimportant. Very easy to follow along with what youre doing. Really well done
I am so glad I found this channel, figuring out the nuclear stuff was made so much easier with the help of these videos. Not to mention now I have a way to find help with create too.
Absolutely love your videos on how to set these all up. I am only about half way through my own setup, but you have made it so simple to understand. Thank you VERY much! Please keep up the awesome videos. One suggestion I have is if you could add a list of the machines you are using in the description, and maybe what all the materials needed. It would be a great help as a reference for when we dig in for our builds.
So as of building this 3 years after this video was uploaded it seems the type of pipes matter, especially when increasing the burn rate. Running basic pipes drain 3.6mb in a span of 30 secs and the turbine was not replacing it. It basically vanished. Switched to ultimate pipes at 1mb/t burn rate and now it holds the cooling steady without making the water disappear.
looking forwards to the next episodes ! i've been following all of your videos , started building the reactor yesterday , was so thrilled when u posted the turbine video today
@@RagePlaysGames i built everything , i filled my induction matrix and made 2 sets of mek armor ( me and my lil bro ) , but now im struggling on what to do next any ideas ?
I needed to upgrade my mechanical pipes too ultimate mechanical pipes, because my reactor needed more water or these standard green pipes cant pump enough water. I dont understand why your pipes are enough for that water flow. My reactor nearly overheated cause of that. But beside that, very nice video. Keep it up.
Hey, thats awesome! Im always happy to hear my videos were able to help out! Best of luck with modded mc, its definitely a rabbit hole your going down haha.
Rage i started to see your videos about a month ago, e now i'm in love with mekanism, alredy doing my world with it, i just want to know if you are going to do the "super critical phase shifter reactor" in this series
For some reason the pressurised tube isn't connecting. I can't explain why. I tried to connect it in exactly the way you showed but it just isn't connecting.
do you know if a mechanic was changed since you made this video? I'm having an issue (and I saw 1 other comment with the same issue. can't run the reactor above 0.25 - 0.3 burn rate unless I also leave the original pump used for testing connected which to me is odd as the pump clearly isn't enough, yet with both the pump and the water feed from the turbine I can push it all the way to 1.0. without the pump I can't go above 0.3 or else the water in the reactor starts dropping drastically and it starts heating up real fast. also both the reactor and turbine are exactly as you built them just located closer together as I didn't make as big of a space for it and I don't want it too close to my main base.
for some reason my Max Production is 1.50 while yours is 3.77. is it because of a update change? and yes I followed your build with the exception of the coil placement as I flipped two of them on the opposite side... like my water coolant is just gone when i have it at max burn rate...
I feel like people could use this mod as training or intro for hopefully employees of nuclear energy production. Holy shit. I really liked create for being so physical. I think Mekanism just deepens the pool. Really awesome mod. I've been watching this entire tutorial series and your step by step instructions and walk throughs have been crucial. Thanks dude! :)
Hey rage I’m new to all this and I’ve basically just been following your steps through this series. So my turbine and fission reactor seem to be identical to yours but when I turn on the reactor, the water level is quickly gone and I have to shut down. Is my steam not condensing? Would you have any idea where I’m going wrong. Thank you for this great series btw
Hmm so I figured it out. My mechanical pipes for the water just ran straight from the reactor to the turbine but when I run them against wall like you did, it works fine. Must just be a mechanic I’m not aware of
It may be a lack of transport power. The more pipes you have the more water/power/gas they can move per tick. It’s an odd mechanic, but it makes longer chains of the same pipe able to move more content. If you ended up making your pipe system longer by changing it, That could explain it
@@RagePlaysGames I'm having the exact same problem my water leaves incredibly fast and doesn't continue filling and capped in my fission reactor at 569,835, I'm not sure what's happening with mine I have it set up exactly as yours pipes and all but my water leaves and my steam goes away after 5 seconds of processing? I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong (update I also get no power in my turbine even though it is moving and fanning??)
@RagePlaysGames do I need to change the turbine you made when I want to make a fission generator that's 5*5*4? If so, how do I do it, because I couldn't follow the math really well
The turbine can support a reactor burning 19.2 Mb/t of fissile fuel. The reactor setup determines the max capable burn rate but you don’t always have to set it at that. As long as you don’t have the reactor set above 19.2 mb/t burn rate you’ll be fine, just make sure your pipes for steam and water are upgraded enough to transport them without bottlenecking the setup :) I can’t tell you what your reactors max rate will be since the size doesn’t dictate specifically it’s burn rate either, how you set up the internal portion does, so I’m sorry I can’t be more specific with a definitive yes or no
@@RagePlaysGames First off thank you for an answer this soon I didn't expect that, secondly I was thinking about a reactor that has a max of 5 mb/t and maybe making tier 3 pipes. I think that should be enough, thanks again for the anwer :)
No problem! And that absolutely should be enough :) for future reference too, just take your turbines lowest output (either steam or water) and divide it by 20,000 and that’s how many mb/t reactor it can maintain. Your reactor at 5 Mb/t would need 100,000 mb/t steam processing & water output from the turbine at a minimum to function without overheating. Hopefully that simplifies it for when ya eventually scale both up!
Thanks for this, but do you know any reason the steam valve would not accept a pressurized tube as an input? I have it set up, just that it refuses to take steam no matter how many parts I bash with my Configurator
UPGRADE YOU PIPES! If you are having the problem of this reactor set up melting down, upgrade the coolant pipes (advandeced is enough)! I built this same thing and fixed the problem as such
I'm glad to see this comment. I can't reach the 1.0 burn rate without running out of water and I considered upgrading the coolant pipes. So, I'm glad to see that indeed will solve the problem.
I went semi-afk while doing homework and running my reactor, only problem was that I forgot to disconnect the reactor to the turbine chamber, so the turbine chamber filled with energy, So I come back and the entire area is radioactive, the reactor was 50000K and was at 1500% damage. SOMEHOW it didn’t explode though, now I’m afking overnight to try to lower the radioactivity levels. (I built it near my base)
As far as I know you are limited to one turbine rotor directly in the center of the turbine no matter what the size. Even if you could have two, i dont think thered be a benefit because two would limit the radius you could have one each and each blade you add gives a static increase in power gen.
In short, I assume the fission reactor is the "boiler" per se that makes the steam and the turbine is the power generator that utilizes said steam to create electricity?
Depends on what coolant you run, if you use water coolant then yes, the reactor is the "boiler" whereas if you use sodium, you need a separate boiler multiblock to act as a heat exchange which turns molten sodium back to sodium in exchange for turning water to steam.
Hi ive tried to build a big industrial Turbine but it doesnt work. when i go with configuratin stick it tell me pressure dispers arrangement malformed. it need to be in an horizontal layer although it already is,....
I have been watching your mekanism videos and following along in my world replicating your builds. I built my fission reactor and turbine exactly like yours but for some reason my turbines flow rate wont go above 16,000. So I am only able to run my reactor at a .8 burn rate. Any higher and all my coolant gets sucked out and my reactor starts melting down. Any help would be much appreciated.
i have a massive problem with my fission reactor. when it comes to the waste i have three barrels for the waste but sometimes when i turn on the machine it wont go through the pipes. the machine says its emptying it but then i get massive radiation leaks. i dont know if its a bug or what. if this happens to you have to turn creative on then do \mek radiation removeAll please help
Haha yea, I wasnt too concerned with that since I know we will be moving both the reactor and turbine eventually as we scale them up to power other builds. Hopefully we can all cringe together for a few episodes until its fixed ;)
@@waddleton_ i did my problem was that i was using the not right tube/pipe you have to use ultimate tube/pipe so water wont run out if you need better explenetion write me:)
I built the same setup, but that turbine cannot even handle a burn rate of 3 let alone 19 lol... I had to use a sink (inf water) and two pumps that pump at 32,000mb/t (so 64k per tick) to get the fission reactor to burn at 4.8mb/tick without going through all the coolant
I have found out that this is a limitation by the Pipes in the game. There are no pipes that can handle the amount of liquid being sent from the turbine to the reactor... With the exception of the Pipez mod using the Infinity upgrade which is SUPER end game...
Hello! Can anyone help me, at 22:25 I didn't understand the calcul, where does the 20k mb/t come from? I search how to upgrade my reactor but it ask much water of course and I can't match what it need and i don't understand how I can make the calcul to know the max i can make, so if anyone can explain me it will be so cool thanks!
Hi! I just started to look this awesome videos, and I really enjoy all of them! I have a question, how do I get rid of the nuclear waste? Or you will explain that y other video?
We go over that in a later video (polonium production video). This decreases it by a factor of 10 and the byproduct is spent nuclear waste which has to sit in the barrel till it goes away. Next episode to be released is on the SPS which converts polonium (product of nuclear waste) to antimatter and has no byproduct, thus ridding you of any radioactive material.
My turbine is only generating 28kFE /tick (71.32 kJ). Any tips? Edit. Nevermind. I figured it out. Now I just need to find enough Uranium. I will probably need to get to the fusion reactor ASAP.
i followed the tutorial perfectly but my reactor cannot exceed 0.3 burn rate, if i try to increase the burn rate the reactor starts to overheat and the turbine cannot supply enough water. could someone explain to me what the problem is please?
ik im late and idk if im going to get an answer but i have a problem with the flowrate being stuck on 256 and it wont go higher, i have the build exactly the same anyone know whats up w that
probably should have paid attention to your advice of first getting a place for the energy to go to. my reactor blew up because the internal buffer of the turbine filled up and it wasn't converting steam to water any more.
Why is his max 3.60 GJ and mine is 1.44 GFE. Is it the same but different units? Cause I made the exact same turbine as him and checked many times if it’s built right. Also if anyone knows the mekanism electricity unit can u explain pls
They are the same so no need to worry :) if you want to switch to different units click the button in the bottom left of the multiblock UI. That will toggle between the various units and change all the calculations in the setting to that for the multiblock.
I keep getting too much power from the turbine and it shuts off, exploding reactor. Does anyone know how to store or get rid of this power so it will keep running?
Unfortunately there isnt a good way to get rid of it, much like in real life. There is a command in creative to remove radiation in the world, but in survival you just have to wait it out until the radiation dissipates.
I deleted my 2 worlds because in the 1st one my fission reactor got overheated and in the 2nd one my turbines internal energy buffer got full and the turbine stopped and my reactor exploded again
yea I'm having the same problem only I can run at 0.3. oddly though if I leave the pump connected I can run all the way at 1.0 so for now I just have the water from the turbine plus a pump hooked to the same line. not sure why with the pump it works as the pump alone clearly isn't enough. I'm wondering if some mechanic got changed since he did this video. it was nearly a year ago. I'm not running pure mekanism though I'm running Enigmatica 6 also but weird I'm having the same issue
I’d suggest anyone playing this to make a villager based iron farm. They are fairly simple and efficient these days (ones using nether portal mechanics can have stupid rates, and abusing end mechanics can yield designs even more stupid).
If you break the coolant loop, you'll have to move -- If you break anything containing waste, you'll have to move -- If your turbine runs full of power, you'll have to move -- If your name is Weerwolf, you'll have to move every two weeks:XD
i followed the tutorial perfectly but my reactor cannot exceed 0.3 burn rate, if i try to increase the burn rate the reactor starts to overheat and the turbine cannot supply enough water. could someone explain to me what the problem is please?
