My Dad had a 1967 Mercury Cougar in High School and has been dreaming of owning one since. In November of 2020 we finally convinced him to purchase the Cougar you see here that is all original (down to the paint) aside from the intake, carb, and wheels. When he purchased it, it was not running, and prior to this video I had the carb rebuilt, and replaced most of the ignition components. I'm just a hobbyist and in my haste to put the car back together I had placed the plug wires in the wrong firing order, and did not have the distributor in the correct position. I attempted to talk about that in this video, but after playing it back, I realized that I did not articulate it very well. At the beginning of this video I had just got the car running. I decided to run down the street to where my Dad was working and surprise him with his running vehicle. In future videos we will be getting this car ready to hit the local cruise night, and transport Dad to Saturday morning coffee.
