Brad’s final words were that he put too much trust in one person and got wrapped up in the fun of the game. Both of these are somewhat true, and even more true was that advantages were zipping around like butterflies on broccoli trees. But David and Jessica explain how that isn’t what caused Brad to go out of the game and there were several hidden layers in addition to some rather obvious ones. I am normally not the person who complains about a season or a new game element (if anything, I've been accused of being an apologist by some people who I would call needlessly negative), but this disadvantage scheme is being played all wrong. As I said in another comment section, they could have made this a much more interesting & fair part of the game if you only lost your vote for ONE TRIBAL each time you said the phrase. This would mean once someone said it, the players aware of the scheme could decide to risk that a third would be there willing to say the phrase too, or they could purposely sabotage the moment by withholding the phrase knowing it would screw their opponent's game.

After listening thru Rob's Top 40 Season Review from this past winter, and reading the comments (mostly about russel hantz), I've learned that modern watchers only care about gameplay and résumé. Production has to show all of this advantage nonsense because that's how they show why the winner earns their win in today's game.

That’s such a one-note way of looking at the game. What is gameplay in a social game if it doesn’t take into account the actual relationships that are being built? Gameplay that doesn’t actually maneuver within the tribal dynamics is just a flash in the pan. Looks pretty for about two seconds then it quickly goes away leaving nothing behind. The win condition is get to the end and get more votes than the people sitting next to you. Any strategy that locks you out of doing that is not an optimal strategy. No one would call someone a great chess player if they constantly blundered their pieces and made it easier for their opponent to checkmate them. Why would we do that for Survivor?

@@Renwick_Davis Uh yeah I agree with that. Is there something in my comment that says otherwise? That's why all these people already voted out are not playing smart - they're trying to "flash in a pan" (as you put it) for nothing because it's pre-merge and they aren't even progressing themselves.
