The irony is that Rudy was also drinking the water as is even though there was a possibility on contracting parasites - and Jerri & Jenna L. spoke up later with concern. I loved the facial expression Sue was using to avoid speaking up before she owned up to drinking the untreated water. Last summer there was a brief period of a few days when it was questionable the safety of the tap water in my area - and that made me think of those two tough folks.
When they do a Legends season I think they should do it like this. Nobody knows who is on the other tribes until this moment. That would be amazing...Boston Rob, Russell, Parvati, Fairplay, Hatch, Kim, Sandra, Tony, etc...it would be epic as hell to see them react to everyone else walking in. Let's just hope a Legends season turns out more like HvV and less like All Stars and Game Changers.
fairplay, hatch & russell hantz are blacklisted they will never play again i think i heard sandra say that she was retiring after this season however if they asked her im sure she would probably say yes
The problem is there can be no clear consensus on who is and isn't a legend. There are a few that everyone would agree on, but not many, so you'll have to fill out the cast with some picks that are sure to generate controversy. Even more so if, as seems likely, any of the legends decide they're not interested, or are excluded by network execs. That was the case with S8: A lot of these "all stars" were pretty dubious by the standards of the time, and what's worse, many of them outlasted the big names that people actually wanted to see by quite a lot. The problem was even more acute on S34; very few of those people actually "changed the game" in meaningful ways; it felt more like a combination of tired old retreads resting on their laurels and a random sample of anyone who happened to be available. Even the beloved S20 wasn't entirely immune from this. Sugar wasn't anyone's hero! Though at least that mistake was corrected at the first opportunity. S31, on the other hand, did it right. There were a fair number of players there whom I would rather not have seen, but the selection process was so transparent there's really no way to argue with it. And S40, while it also had some duds, required its players to clear such a high bar to be considered that it's beyond a lot of criticism. Another issue with the "legends" is, a lot of them have had way too many bites of the apple. Some of the greats have been cruelly denied the championship, but it's not that impressive to see someone win on the fourth or fifth try. Still less to see someone _fail_ to win on the fourth or fifth try! And of those who don't keep coming back and back and back again, coming back after a hiatus of more than a decade, while it occasionally produces some excitingly deep runs, usually results in a game that never gets off the ground.
Loved the not so subtle insinuation regarding the match smuggling - if they didn't have so much trouble casting this season, that would have/should have been grounds for disqualification and the boot before the game began. At least Hatch was on house arrest and a federal judge in RI refused to let him leave the country so he couldn't cause trouble on HvV.
idk if they knew much about him because idk if anyone before had a chance to see pearl islands yet before they started filming this season just like with heroes vs villains samoa had not aired yet & they did not know much about russell they were told by production that he was one of the most notorious villains
@@megarooster99 oh ok yeah so I think the rest of them at least saw the beginning of pearl islands I think all stars filmed like in October or November to December 2003
She was contacted and would have been given a spot, but she told producers that she was still recovering from some bugs in PI, so she passed up the opportunity. Smart thinking on her end. This season targeted past winners and she wouldn't have gone far.
Sandra was funny and entertaining on her third season (Survivor Game Changers)… Though if she had stuck to only appearing on two seasons, she’d have maintained an untouchable record: playing only twice winning twice. She also won an OG season (Pearl Islands) which puts her in an elite category. Her second season (Heroes Vs Villains) also happens to be considered the best season of all time. Survivor post-2010 is not what it used to be. Which is why Tony Vlachos and the modern winners just aren’t that impressive or iconic. The whole world was watching Survivor when Rupert, Jonny Fairplay, and Sandra were on Pearl Islands. It was epic back then.
@foxtrix Candice was memorable...she was invited to Micronesia but couldn't because of med school so they replaced her with Parvati. Candice was originally supposed to be on Villains and Sandra on Heroes but they switched because they thought Sandra's vibe with the villains would be interesting (and it was). Corinne from Gabon was supposed to be on Villains, but because she couldn't come they got Danielle
Well, other than Amber, that's definitely a all-stars. Now about Heroes VS Villians...Candice? Danielle? Who are they? Candice is considered a "Hero" for the mutiny against her tribe? Pssh.
Richard, Rudy, Tina, Colby, Ethan, Lex, Big Tom, Kathy, Mariano, Jenna, and Cesternino, and Rupert was brought back for Performance in past seasons Susan, Jerri, Alicia, and Shii Ann awas brought for their popularity among certain imfamous incidents Amber and Jenna Lewis are reservists and replace sweethearts Colleen and Elisabeth (Kathy and Lex was also there to replace the Pregnant Vecepia and Brian who wanted a substancial Payout regardless of placement)
I'd like to think Brian replaced Big Tom...no way Lex wsn't gonna be on All Stars. If Heidik was gonna replace anyone, Big Tom was probably the least All Star out of the guys.
@fanarchy i dont' think johnny was invited...at the reunion show jeff joked "he was still bitter from it." that's why he was invited to micronesia instead...but was not in Heroes vs. Villains because of his sad performance in micronesia
i heard he declined all stars then he did something bad at the vanuatu after party that pissed off probst thats a main reason why he hates fairplay he did not want him on micronesia everyone knew probst hated him so im kind of wondering if that was still some kind of joke with him out first in micronesia
@XChupacabras I know...I meant that the fans liked her much more than any of the other survivors from Thailand. She also got along with several allstars, like Lex and Kathy. She also got a lot of cheers on the reunion show!
I've been watching this show ever since I was 8 :) I remember on one of the season I cried because some jerk backstabbed I think it was ruddy? I totally forgot but it was some old dude. Haha wow intense and the this season's redemption island is gonna be awesome
@Angemon4 they needed someone from Thailand...and all the other castaways had abysmal ratings. The most well liked from that season was Shii Ann. And she did really well!
The astronomical viewer numbers of the early days were already declining and they wanted to do something splashy to arrest that fall. (In fact they never did get the numbers back up to what they'd been in the halcyon days of the early 00s, though obviously, once they fell to Earth, they were still high enough to sustain dozens more seasons.) Remember also that in those days NBC was the top network (though this was the last year that would be true) and starting with S2 CBS had run _Survivor_ against _Friends._ Well _Friends_ was in its final season in '04, which means lots of people who'd stopped watching it at some point wanted to come back to see how it ended, and in those days, if two shows were on in the same time slot, you really did have to choose between them. You had far fewer options for watching things "on demand." Starting around S4, the novelty of the _Survivor_ format had begun wearing off, and S5, S6, S7, none of them really generated the same level of interest that S1 and S2 had. Throw a run of that mill up against the grand finale of NBC's champion and the story would be "Survivor Peters Out! Dies With a Whimper!" And they'd been so aggressive in their challenge of _Friends_ three years earlier that moving it to a less competitive time slot would have given it the look of a whipped dog. So they had to do something special to compete. Once _Friends_ and _Frasier_ went off the air, Must See TV stopped being a must see (with all due respect to _The Office_ I hasten to add) and the Thursday time slot became less competitive. Just as well because the next few years of _Survivor_ signaled the end of an era. It would be several years before the show got really compelling again, and by then a lot of people who had watched during Bush's first term were permanently lost to them.
My cast would be of 24 castaways. Tribe One Helen Heidi Neleh Ethan Rudy Rupert Tribe Two Boston Rob Rob C Johnny Fairplay Alicia Jerri Sue Tribe Three Colby Lex Richard Jenna Colleen Kathy Tribe Four Big Tom Keith Ted Christy Elisabeth Denna
@@brokenpikachu9491 Hatch Rudy Gervase Colby Ethan Lex Sean Rector Boston Rob Brian Heidik Cesternino Rupert Jonny FairPlay Kelly W Sue Colleen Tina Elisabeth Jerri T-Bird Kelly G Vecepia Kathy Jenna M Sandra
back when they are considered all stars. but i like them. no showbiz just play and win the game where big moves are use when needed and not for tv ratings.
well, it has been 10 years for gervace, who was the black single baby daddy from phillie, he was the lazy, and funny man! and Sean was the Harlem eleme school teacher, he won the car in marquesas, and he and kathy and v, and pappy and neleh, came together to take down what was potentally the biggest alliance in survivor history, by eliminating John Carrol, and he also was buds with Rob M, America loved him, but sadly time flies in survivor and he is forgotten, because it has been 15 seasons past
crista my ass...she was one of the worst survivor players ever...for me..i felt bad that elisabeth filarski did not participated...she was one of the sweetest survivor ever
