I wonder what would happen if the survivors rather than fleeing, actually stood up to the killers and started throwing rocks or knives at them.

Apparently the entity can limit the actions of the people in the realm. Like the survivors not using weapons or killers being forced into a cooldown after hitting someone. They've probably thought about doing that before but they are physically incapable of that in the entity's realm

According to the lore, The Entity erases the Survivors' memories after each Trial so that their fear stays fresh longer and it can continue feeding on them. If the Survivors didn't think to try fighting back during their first trial then it wouldn't occur to them on their one hundredth trial, either. Survivors who you would reasonably expect to try fighting back have been stripped of their weapons. For example, Ash doesn't have his chainsaw and Bill doesn't have his guns. Of course the real reason they can't just go to town on the Killer is because it would break the game. If you want an asymmetric multiplayer online horror game where you can actually fight back against the Killer, try Friday the 13th, Resident Evil: Resistance, or Evil Dead.

If you want a game that some Survivors can actually hit the Killers. You can try IDV. It's similar game yet very different (IDV made based on DBD) Well I won't say IDV is really horror game. This game is so glamorous that really overwrite the horror vibes. But if you want a strong Survivor. This game has plenty of them. Like Antiquarian or Batter, they can literally hit the Hunters (Killers in this game) if they need

There is also a bonus track on the official DbD soundtrack called “Flesh and Bone” It sounds very different compared to the other tracks on the soundtrack. At first you would’ve been able to fight back against the killer, but BHVR scrapped the idea before the game’s final release. It would’ve been neat though. I would love to kick a killer where the sun doesn’t shine as Meg Thomas or something.
