I thought a tie between two people with four people on a tribe resulted in a fire building challenge between the two people who received the most votes, which would be Lyrsa and Angelina in this case. I could be wrong though and it could be different for pre-merge Tribal Councils with four people.

Yes but in Palau Pre-Merge Ulong was down to only 2 players (not 4 players like this episode) so there was NO Vote (since they could only vote for each other) and Stephenie and Bobby Jon had to Make Fire to see who would be eliminated. That was the ONLY Pre-Merge Fire Making Tie Breaker Challenge. Pre-Merge with 4 players a 2-2 tie goes to Rocks because there other 2 are eligible players to draw Rocks (in this case Nick & Mike would draw Rocks) and that has never happened which is why they invented the Rock Draw to force the players to break a tie. Post-Merge Final 4 and a 2-2 tie everyone would be Immune (since 1 player won Immunity and the other 2 are in a deadlock tie) except for 1 player so can't go to Rocks and they use Fire Making Challenge instead.

I think it is worth mentioning that while Mike has not high chances of winning, I think his chacnes are on the rise...from the get go he is one of few ppl who had to play almost every episode (e was a target on the goliath´s and he had to make moves on his new tribe too), and he got better and better at it...I m for sure looking at him hoping he will keep up the good decision making .

I would say, as to the bamboo, to go back and watch Vanuatu when the women won the reward of Da...sp? He didn't cut the bamboo in half, but cut it enough so they could unroll it in one piece. It then was like a springy mat of sorts.

This is the time that maybe they should make a rule that if it is going to be a 2-2 tie on ANY tribal, that it should be firemaking IMO. The dynamics are practically the same as a F4, leaving the tribe with potentially no allies left. They cannot excuse rocks as impossible at F4 due to autoelimination by rocks, seeing Keith could've been a victim of that in Cambodia, and the same could've happened if say Mike used an idol in this sceanrio. It was too close for comfort IMO this vote and it was kinda a lose lose situation for either Mike or Nick (50-50 rocks or give momentum away).

Nick??? 1st merge boot if its a david vs goliath??? It does not make any sense. Why would they vote someone off who is their possible swing vote given that he is strong with mike. And its obviously not david vs goliath based on the sneak peek.
