Unfortunately, westerners who are ignorant of the world outside of their own doorsteps have had a disproportionate influence over the affairs of the rest of the world for decades already. The same dynamic of vocal and brainwashed westerners protesting about things they have no experience of played out again and again in the 1960's, 70's and 80's.

Yes; they were very naive. I don't understand why; they knew that the people of Gaza had elected Hamas. They must have known how all-pervasive the presence of Hamas was in Gaza, their propaganda and their total control of the educational system. How could they really trust anyone who'd grown up under that? Not to sound cruel, but it makes no more sense than allowing someone with a deadly and highly contagious disease into your home, and near your family and children. Altruism cannot supersede self-preservation, and protection of one's own family, community, and country.

Why do so many Jews forget God in the midst of this? So many testimonies with no mention of the God of Israel who calls Israelites the apple of His eye. Because these colonists are not religious. They were given the stolen land that had owners. If your entire family was kicked out of your home and property and could only take what you could carry while walking. No compensation. All the while knowing someone like me was given the house, property and all its possession by a story only I believed so that MY house, MY property and MY possession were always mine by ancient right regardless who may have been there for 100s of years. How would you react while living hand to mouth in crowded lving quarter with no opportunites. With militiary watching your every move, your children taken and questioned just becaseu they can. I will never understand the human condition. We are simply visitors here. How tragic that you believed in the innocence of the majority but now realize that there were very few innocent Gazans.
